17 440i Rim size
I've got a 2017 440i xdr with the track package and i cracked a rim today so I'm gonna buy after markets. I've heard that you need to be careful with sizes so any insight would be helpful. I decided on 18x8.5 +35 with 245/45R18 for the front 2 and 18x9.5 +35 with 275/40R18 for the rear 2. I have the stock staggered ones 225/255 currently and my main goal is to up the width and keep the 18 inch size. Does this sound like a decent setup? i don't know anyone who can explain to me what calculations you need to make so i kinda just winged it. The rim im looking at is Konig Hexaforms and Pilot sport 4s tires.

235/45/18 265/40/18 is the tallest id use. Post pics after 245/45+275/40 is installed |

I am not lowered currently, i just got the car not too long ago but i plan on it. sorry for my ignorance this is my first time buying rims, what does "ET" mean. I was recommended the 275 width because the car is tuned and such and i want to reduce spin, but i dont want any rubbing problems. i can lower it accordingly in the future.

if you are going to lower it and run 275/40/18, +42ish would be better. 7mm doesn't sound like much but, there'll be a big difference. |

Best I can find that look similar would be Enkei TS-7s
I can't change the offsets on tire rack but it's 18x8.5 +38 for the front and 18x9.5 +45 rear. Does that sound right for 245/45R18 275/40R18 or should I change up the tire size |

Everything will fit better. If desired you may add spacers if you want less offset, which may be determined later.

So they don't have tires in the size I need on tire rack so I've lowered the front to 245/40R18
My final fit i think is gonna be Enkei TS-7s with Michelin Pilot Super Sports 18x8.5+38 245/40R18 for the fronts 18x9.5+45 275/40R18 for the rear As long as changing up the one number doesn't mess up too much I think this is what I'm gonna go with. To my understanding that's the sidewall height correct? |

I think I'm going to switch to continental extreme contacts so I can get 245/45ZR18 front and 275/40ZR18 rear for the Enkei TS-7s I mentioned above. Sound good?

imo it's gonna look ph@t and make it look like 17's, but if you don't mind it or maybe you want that look then enjoy. fyi it is going to dull the turn-in and heighten your gearing at the pavement, if you care.
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...=245%2F45%2F18 since you are lowering, if you want width, then i'd do 245/40/18+275/35/18, like leadfoot12 https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0&postcount=65 https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...9&postcount=91 . Ok, I tried my best and fitment industries looks like they have what I'm gonna go with. Sorry for the so much back and forth but I really have no clue how to translate numbers to on car effect/appearance.
Going back to the konigs and pilot sports 18x8.5+38 245/40R18 fronts 18x9.5+45 275/35R18 rear And to my understanding the higher the offset the more pushed in the tire will be so I can get spacers to even it close to what he has/what looks good correct? The only thing I can't do is go with 18x9 on the fronts I don't think they make the konigs like that but it shouldn't be a huge issue. |

If they rub alittle untill I get spacers it's not a huge deal, I'm just kinda on a time crunch cause I gotta drive around my car on a cracked rim until they show up. My other car is down.
I should also say thank you, you have been such a help trying to help me understand all this in a rush |

I got the rims and put em on finally. Front has a 1/4" spacers rear has none and the fit is great. I do have to contact Fi and talk with them because I had an issue with the calipers. The wheel weight they put on hit the caliper and scratched the front barrels. Overall everything else looks and feels great 245/40R18. 18x8.5 +38 +1/4" Spacer 275/35R18. 18x9.5 +45 |
