Remus axle back + resonator delete 435i
Hi guys,
Just purchased my Remus axle back (Thanks Mike) and now I'm trying to find how these sound with a res delete before I take delivery of my new exhaust. How does the Remus sound with the res delete? Will there be any drone? Anyone have any experience with res deletes with other exhausts? Thanks all. - Zoran |

The resonator's only purpose is to remove frequencies in the exhaust note that resonate in the cabin, aka drone. Removing it always introduces more drone.
Some people don't mind drone, or have a higher tolerance for it, so they either ignore, or or don't notice it. It's subjective what's tolerable or not. Don't remove it. Save your monies as it doesn't add any measurable performance at all. This remus sounds best with a catless or HFC downpipe. Money better spent there, or elsewhere.

I just installed Remus catback last weekend, already have ER catless DP. I think you'd be nuts to cut out the resonator, its already pretty loud. I have to ecopro in my work parkade to maintain some modicum of civility.

Yes it will drone. Keep the resonator.

Thank you all for your replies. Resonator will stay where it belongs haha.
On another note, are you able to disconnect the exhaust valve to make it louder if need be? I believe this system uses the stock exhaust valve when switching between comfort/sport. Anyone have any experience with this? |

I have the Remus axle back (from Mike) on my car and really like the sound. I just wish it was a tad louder, especially inside the cabin. I don't have a down pipe or anything though and am not interested right now in getting one.

Although you don't want to for now, downpipe will be your best bet to make it louder. |

This is with the valve open , res delete, ERdp, 13’ pwg, I use jb4 to control canflap, audio change is noticeable, also when changing between sport and comfort. Last edited by Jesse91; 10-02-2018 at 06:28 PM.. |
