M3 and M4 has longer hood than F30. Maybe there is some diferent in engine room?
Not sure if N55 will fit with carbon strut.

Engine room size exactly same ... no interference .. Only thing why M4 has loger hood than F30/F32 is that front bumper is expanded 30~40mm more than F30/F32 ...

[Quick update]

When you try installing alloy strut brace, you couldn't find any tightened nut assembled with the strut through the edge hole .. (Only M4 has this blind rivet nut)

I found yesterday what I need to add for tightening. You need to order below screw and rivet nut

Fillister head screw M10 (alloy SB - edge) 34Nm 2EA : 07147162464
Blind rivet nut, flat headed 2EA : 51718065070

Stage 4 M4 Extension suspension cross brace + Diagonal strut

My 2014 428i (N26) already has Ohlins R&T MP00 suspension and M4 genuine 437M wheel + PSS 235 / 265 tire. Currently Stage 3 completed .. Enjoy !!
Steve

Great write up and photos.

How much disassembly of engine bulkhead plastic trims and fittings was required to install stage 2 alloy brace ?

Thanks,

BP

Never expect that will fits, wonder if aftermarket intake will fit in there without any clearance issue.

Hi Steve,

For stage 1 - What bolt torques for 3 x m10 bolts into top mounts ?

Cheers,

BP

Hi Steve!

Can you please post a photo of Stage 4 you did?
I can not realize where must 31122284857 and 31122284859 be placed? (3 and 4 on the picture)

If you want to tighten 3,4 into body, you need to drill your body what you wouldn't do that. So, I used rubber bushing to body side for absorbing shock from strut .. ^^

Hi

Thanks for this tutorial, I think I'm going to give it a try too.

Was the replacement of the struts support with 31302284702 absolutely necessary? I can't see where this would be a problem to use the original F30 part?

This seems to be the most annoying part to manage with the necessity to remove the shocks etc. if I can skip it I'll go ahead.

Thanks!!

Got it now, required to bolt the alloy strut brace on.
I need to understand if I can change these without dismounting the entire wheel etc, first time for me.

I was quoted:
stage 1 : 212 euros
stage 2 : 601 euros
stage 3 : 995 euros
Maybe i will make stage 1 and 2, because Engine hood sealing left and right are not available.
Can you please tell us more about handling, how is it now, after installing the cfrp strut what is the difference?
