It sounds like a deeper exhaust note than the Akra, although it always depends on the microphone and the room etc. i like it very much.

Which one do you mean? We have two batteries in the trunk, if yours is like mine, attached to the same pole at the rear, and a pain to remove because hard to access (I find)

The JB4 is ON! Installation was way, way easier than when I did my TPMS retrofit, or installed an aftermarket audio amp
Works like a charm, no dyno of course but supposed to be 400hp now, it feels much more edgy, I haven't pushed too hard yet, 1 hour / 50km mixed driving styles. As others have said, lower rpm feels stronger. Eco pro works unchanged, perhaps stays at lower Rpm thanks to the increased torque. No codes in the JB4 app.

Ps: I wouldn't count on 400. A friend of mine got a M135i and installed JB4 two weeks ago.
Jb4 stage 1: 320 on the dyno. Stage 2: 340 on the dyno. That's the reason I didn't go with the JB4... I think you should aim for +/- 365. |

Meh! You're spoiling the fun
I don't care, it makes me smile But anyhow, the plan remains to go to BR performance sometime in the future, perhaps a little later, when warranty expires in a year. In any case i do believe that a reprog will always have an edge over a piggyback like jb4, because it has access to all parameters. However the jb4 lets me switch maps and gives me plenty of info on my iPhone which is great. |

OK so here are some approximate dyno tests -
disclaimer: they were done with an iphone app called PerfExpert, which measures using the internal accelerometer of the iphone and deduce the torque and power curves, and as such are quite approximative, as you get the headwinds that you don't have on a dyno, etc, I don't even know how the revs are estimated. Torque seems about right, hp seem overestimated and i'm not sure why, I might have got one of the parameters wrong. Anyway, you still get the before/after comparison Measure 1: Stock 383hp / 477Nm estimated curve here: Measure 2: JB4 Map 5 (auto learning) 433hp / 557Nm estimated curve here: So with the approximations etc the measures are on the high side, but the difference is there, with +50hp estimated, so it seems not as efficient as frackje's tune, but close enough. What I'm not sure is how efficient is this auto learning map 5 compared to the standard fixed map 1.
