My car already has Sport+ so I didn't code anything for Sport+. I only FDL coded 2 functions under EGS module (again, LC was already active so I didn't code anything for it). Sorry, I'm pretty new to coding, that's why I'm a little confused.

My question is should I revert my changes in EGS module back and do VO coding for Sport Automatic Transmission?

Thanks!
YMB_M4_j2,
FYI; the forum does not allow you to post Excel Spreadsheets.

I also like to have cheatsheet set up by module; have attached the cheat sheet I use that is based on Halsifier's, my own and others input.

You can try to bring this into Excel -- to provide this, I went from Excel to PDF.

Hope that helps
Oh I didn't know Excel docs weren't allowed. Thanks I ended up converting from PDF to Excel and it works just uglier than hell but functional.

I have the same question. I already had Sport+ so I FDL coded Sportschalter and Sportschalter_alt and it seems to work fine. Will VO coding 2TB do something different or "more proper" than changing those 2 options alone?

Thanks!

Rsnic - the above cheat sheet has the NOAA Weatherband coding listed as "doesn't work", but it worked fine on my 1/13 build non-NAV 335i. It now shows up under the Radio menu and lists 10 channels to choose from.

@Roundel335,

That's odd because that was one of the first items I tried to code and it did nothing; perhaps it is the difference between 13 and 14 models (CIC vs NBT) or because I have Nav system.

Will give another try -- it's well worth it because that is very useful when traveling

Thanks

The Weather Band works only on CIC. On NBT, it will not work.

If your coding for Sport Auto Transmission is already working, then you're fine. This was solely just to make it easier for future coding purposes for those who want it coded, since they will additionally get Sport+. I'm not sure of the exact differences because my vehicle is equipped with Sport Auto, so I've never coded it in. But if it's working for you, then no need to mess with it.

I need help. I coded my 320 f30 with internet and everything works. My system is CIC.
I used these codes:

Today I tried to activate internet on a 125i 13/14 (F20) using the same codes. Just last function did not appear in the module (BT_DATA_SERVICE - part - 8).

The internet function does not appear in iDrive. And Bmw Live is not selectable. What could be happening? In fact the iDrive not changed.

I could be wrong about this but I'm 90% certain BMW Live is a subscription service where you need to pay a fee. Subscription services work via the cellular network and allow your car to logon to BMW servers to receive information as well as transmit info to BMW. What I find odd about any of the subscription services (BMW Live, ARTTI, etc) is you should be able to sign up for them any time, not just when you buy the car.

There are just somethings where the auto industry has failed to catch up to . . . the late part of the 20th century.

ASD: Wow.

I dabbled with ASD last year with no results, turned out I had to FDL code the Engine and Model Range.

Set my F30 to be a M3 and wow is there a big difference! Are there other choices besides M5/M6 and M3/M4?

EDIT: I tried the M5/M6 combo as in the sheet, but it doenst do much. Couldnt tell the difference between that and stock.

Some people have reported being able to enable those codes and set up their phones to tether data to the vehicle, allowing them to access the internet from iDrive. I personally have not tried it.

M3/M4 is gonna be your best sound by far. M5/M6 add a bit of lower notes in there, not as noticeable apparently (Unless I'm mistaken?). You could have it sound like a diesel, but I'm not sure I know many people who would want that..

I skipped the FDL coding and simply VO coded 2TB getting rid of 205, then coded the 3 suggested module EGS, COMBI, and ICM (I think). That was my interpretation of the instructions from the cheatsheet. The car does seem to 'kick' in the lower gears but I forgot to check if it would still climb the gear ladder if i put it in 'manual' then didn't do any more gear molesting. I noticed it did hold gears (it does that anyway in Sport+) but would instinctively shift. Is it supposed to hold to redline? It downshifted to lower gears on it's own but I guess it would have to or the car would stall.

No. But I did try close sunroof automatically when it rains. It didn't work, the auto closing that is. The rain was fine.

The only difference between Sport Auto Transmission and the Regular Auto Transmission Coding is that the shifts are quicker and some even say smoother. It will also show S1-S7 when the shifter is moved to the left in Sport and not in engaged in manual mode.

Sport+ will hold the gear at redline in Manual Mode Only. It will otherwise never hold it at redline in Comfort, Eco Pro, or Sport. And yes, it will always downshift while decelerating automatically because the car would stall.

Hi,

Really like the automatic wiper function; it adjusts speed based on amount of rain on windshield.

Perhaps, it the way I have seat and steering wheel adjusted, but it is extremely difficult to see the green LED on the wiper stalk that indicates the auto wipers are on --- so, is there a way to code something that will display an icon on the dash?

My wife's Volvo has both automatic wiper and an icon that shows up on the dash.

Couple of weeks ago, I FDL coded Sport Auto Transmission and I was quite happy with that. However, I still wanted to VO code it by replacing 205 with 2TB.

Yesterday I did VO code 2TB on top of my FDL coding. I coded EGS successfully. When I was coding ICM, car gave the error "Chasis stabilization: Drive moderately". Then I coded KOMBI and finished coding. In E-Sys, I cleared the error thru External Applications section. I drove 150+ miles since yesterday and there is no CEL or any errors showing up.

However, I feel like the car was shifting gears faster in Comfort mode with FDL coding. I knowiIt doesn't sound reasonable and I think both FDL and VO coding the SAT should have the exact same effect. Maybe they're the same and it's only in my head I just wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else tried coding SAT both ways (FDL and VO).

Its not only the shifts which are quicker, even the throttle becomes a fair bit more sensitive. After coding 2TB on a couple of friends F30s, it makes a world of a difference. In Sport and Sport+ mode there is even a small jerk while the gear changes, similar to a DCT.

By far the best thing to code, if not already present on a car.
