GTS Hood Intake Problem

Hey guys so I just got my gts hood painted and installed but when trying to install the vent I noticed its hitting the intake not allowing the vent to clip in the whole way. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and if there are any solutions. Thanks

I remember watching a video on YouTube about this. They fixed the issue by trimming the bottom of the plastic vent.

Yeah I just ended up sanding the bottom of the vent where it was hitting the intake and that has seemed to do the job. Thanks

Looking very clean, i never knew it would also be beneficial because the hood vent is right on top of the cold air intake, getting all that cold air

Exactly, it is correct for m sport. Most US cars had the delete option but I put them back on mine.

I'd be really curious to see IAT differences on that hood pre and post. Along with trying to guide the open air intake towards the hood as well (along with the front inlet).

Are you garage parked or outside? I love this hood but I park outside and I'm really worried about Chicago winters messing something up.

The reason it hits is due to the round aftermarket intake tube running across front of car. Grill does not hit when using the factory plastic tube that is a flattened oval

I had the same problem with slight hitting on my GTS hood with the Dinan Intake (same round style pipe)

Didn't think of sanding 1st but I eventually went with the Turner Enclosed Intake that uses an oval tube and interference is gone

In literally every country but the USA all BMWs with the M-sports package got small M badges on the fenders, exactly because the M badges on the side shows its trim level, same as when it is a "sports" badge there on the base model and "luxury" badge there on the highest trim model... I dont get why especially Americans complains so much about it when its 100% logical for M-sport trim vehicles to have it. Save the complaining for people who put "M" in front of their 316i/318i/320i badges on the hatch or in their grille. Theres an extreme amount of them in Europe. Theres even a dude who lives in my street that got an E90 316d with a M badge so huge in the grille that im 100% sure it causes more drag and reduces his air flow so it doesnt even produce 115hp anymore.

And even some US vehicles had it if you got the dealer to delete the 3DZ “without additional designation outside (aka badge delete)” line.
