Hi Folks, long time follower here. I’ve recently brought a BMW 5 Series Touring 520D 2021 (G31) and wondered if anyone could help me in activating the SLI on it? I would be ever so grateful - thank you in advance.

I just wanted to share my experience of coding SLI with BimmerTech here. Definitely don't use their service. They charge significantly more than some people recommended by Shawn. But thats not the worst part. The worst part is that they don't get you an OEM FSC code. Instead they code some fake generated FSC code and then somehow make it accepted. It works just fine, but only until your next trip to BMW service. As soon as you go there or you do errors reset in ISTA yourself that fake FSC gets rejected and you have to pay BimmerTech to code fix again, which lasts only until your next trip to BMW.
So from personal experience: 1)I don't recommend to use BimmerTech, its expensive and short lived 2)When you code SLI make sure you get an OEM FSC for the VIN of your car if you don't want it to get rejected by your car in future and you having to fix it via another coding session again. |

Hello everyone,
Can somebody please help me with ordering of Original FSC code to unlock 8TH (SLI)? I already have KAFAS2 in my car. If there is someone who can help me with this topic, please write me PM, or leave me you contact. Thanks in advance! 🤝 |

I’m from NZ and would like to get 8TH on my 2016 F30 as well. If you inject the FSC with esys and get everything else working would BMW be able to recognise the car has been retrofitted with 8TH or will their computer wipe out the settings and FSC if you went in for a service? Thanks |

Hi,
My SLI I installed using the FSC files has been working for 3 1/2 years and it has been into BMW Adelaide numerous times for services and vehicle inspection and SLI is still working. Now, BMW haven't had to program or software update my BMW so I don't know if the SLI would be removed as it wasn't standard. My wife's F48 X1 had to have a rear DRL LED light replaced and her car was coded and it did loose the coding for the SLI emulator and others but I don't think I had to go through the whole process again, just enable SLI with some e-sys coding. To get my 2016 F26 to see and use the FSC files and enable SLI via cameras, I did have to update the firmware of the KAFAS2 ECU. Cheerz Quote:

That’s really helpful information. I will try coding SLI on to my car then, I also have the SLI emulator installed at the moment, but would like the actual BMW option better. Cheers |

When you added the FA did you write FA to FP or read FA to FP? I saw somewhere where shawnsheridan advised that if we want the dealership to be able to see the added FA when they are working on the car then 8TH will need to be written to the car or else the entered FSC may get deregistered or something? |
