My first car journal - F36 and initial mods (LCI tails/ID6)

Hi all, I've been part of these forums since 2010 when I bought my first BMW and now 4 BMWs later, I'm now an owner of a 2016 435i GC with 12K miles. I got it for a really nice deal at a dealer in NY. It took me a bit to find this car, but it was worth it as I needed it to be fully loaded (had to learn this lesson the hard way many times...)

With that said, I knew the first mod that I needed to do was the new navigation system as well as the LCI tails as both of these components look outdated. I bought the unit completely coded, so all I needed to do was swap units, which as a first timer was a bit rough, but once it's done and everything worked correctly, the feeling was awesome. The LCI lights I bought from EAS, which also included the harness for the F36 which was a big factor as to why I bought from them. Plug and play and some coding later from ACM and we have lights! Again, I cannot emphasize how this changes the rear of the car. So much better.

I also went ahead and changed the grills and mirrors as well as wrap the brace bars. Thinking of debadging the rear as well.

As far as what's next? I'm looking to buy and install a spoiler and diffuser as well as a splitter to somewhat complete the look. Performance wise, I'm not sure since my CPO doesn't expire until 2022... Maybe a charge pipe and an intake with a Stage1 tune?

I'm also looking into upgrading my brakes to the M performance line. I think that may be next honestly as looking at the car from the side is not sexy enough, LOL.

Interior wise, I definitely want to get CF interior and not the M performance trim as Alcantara and I do not get along... My fiancé and I have 2 cats, so... yup, nope.

For wheels... I love the 666M style on the M cars, so I may get reps since I don't want to drive 20's. Maybe HRE Flowflorms? Not sure yet. Maybe the mod bug bites me more? I don't know

Really nice looking car. The LCI tail lights look amazing and really "update" and enhance the car!

Thank you. Honestly, even before I bought the car I knew it was going to be one of the very first mods. Night and day for sure!

Rear diffusers are not expensive but frankly probably one of the less noticeable mods I've done. Adding a splitter changed the look dramatically, as did the LCI tail lights. When I upgraded from the stock 18" rims it came down to the 666m or 437m, ended up buying a set of 20" 437m from a member here because they were a steal and have new tires.

Looks really good with the splitter.
Do you have a link for it?

But get rid of the mudflaps. Does not look good on any car imho.

@OP New car looks good :-)

Thanks! Mud flaps are better than the side of my car getting covered in mud and pine needles, they're really not that noticeable. I got the splitter from aliexpress but it appears to be a replica of the Kies Motorsports End.CC splitter. I liked how this splitter sticks to the contours of the bumper more than the M perf version.
