Thanks guys. My car is at the dealer as of 8 am this morning and the SA said that they should cover it, but they have to inform BMWNA first. He said he'll call me tomorrow to let me know what exactly is covered and will be replaced. I don't want to be greedy but I'd like them to fix the driver's seat as well.

I didn't have them replace my leather seats but vinyl on steering wheel and sunroof switches/cover where peeling and had them replace without a problem. I think you can have it replaced "if" you can replicate the damage in front of them..

Thanks for all your help and advice guys. The console was replaced under warranty and they also changed my oil while they were at it...

However, now my car got a drivetrain malfunction when they started it up

Seriously, what gives??! All I have is MPPK and MPE

The tech went home early and the SA said he didn't know I had the MPPK installed? Should I be worried?

I've had the Dakota Leather in my F30 for over 2 years now, and I've never seen ANYTHING like that.

Unfortunately that's where I'm at too. If the leather finish were defective overall, I'd expect to see broader discoloring effect. What you have going on is damage at specific contact points, like where your jeans rub as you sit down and where your watch rests on the armrest.

Well the dealer replaced the center console at no charge and replaced my HPFP while they were at it since it took a dump. The driver's side door armrest replacement is on order, as is a new driver's seat cover. They determined it was in fact a defect. Everything is being replaced under warranty.

I cannot see the original images but I feel I am experiencing similar but to a less extent. My car has 27k miles with white leather and I see some small spots in which it appears the leather has lost its color and is showing through is silver/gray/black instead of the white. I have only cleaned with bmw branded leather cleaner. Photos attached. OP any resolution?

That's Merino Leather Which does not wear as well as Dakota or Sensatec.

Having priced replacement leather covers for a complete F30 Individual Seats Leather Pieces and center armrest same as yours and mine (which in reality is roughly the same price as Dakota) , the MSRP for the leather replacement was over $15k USD for the parts alone 2 years ago.

Would not surprise me if that's higher now.

And that does nor include labor, shop fees or tax.

Again, this is only the leather covering except for rear headrests and center arm rests where the leather is not sold separately.

FWIW, the costs for the same parts from a German BMW Dealer was slightly over 9000€ at the time which show the incredible markup BMW NA Customers pay for parts.

FWIW I was able to get my seat covers replaced, there was "cracking' on the side of the bottom seat. I have the fake leather, and it's a CPO, maybe the guy before me was super fat or something idk. Replaced free of charge under original warranty, but I guessing the all surface protection they included with the CPO would have covered it as well.

I have a 2015 435i convertible which has the rollbars out because of a minor accident. Does anyone know how I can put these back down so I can replace the rear window(rollbars broke it when they came up)?
