Black Brake Discs

Hi

Planning to do a complete disc and pad replacement, would really like to get black discs if possible - can anyone recommend something nice? I have the ACS1 wheels so everything is very visible.

Not looking for the most expensive, would be nice to get rid of the annoying squeaks, both disc and pad recommendations really appreciated, don't want to give it to the dealer.

It's for a 2015 435i with M Sport brakes

If they start out black they won't stay that way, the pads will rub off whatever they're colored with, leaving only the hub black.

STOPTECH and POWERSTOP are both good brands I would recommend. Go onto ecstuning.com and put in your vehicle information, then go to brakes and then rotors/pads. Make sure they fit your M Sport Brakes.

I've been eying these from cquence. They offer dimpled and slotted which I prefer over drilled. I also want black (will go nicely with my BSM paint). True the rotor surface will wear the black coating off but it will remain in the dimples and slots and on the hub which I think will pop very nicely. I plan to paint my calipers black so all in all I think it will look good and have the performance I want. Now just to pick out pads.

Would the dimples and slots get filled with brake dust?

Anyways, FCP Euro has dimpled and slotted Zimmerman rotors.

paint the hub when you do the calipers. I think EBC makes black rotors but the slots aren't painted.

Yep. I painted my dimpled and slotted rotor hubs with VHT high temp paint and they've held up really well. I hated the rust, totally kills the aesthetics.

Probably but they will clean out when washing the wheels/brakes. I use a power washer so things stay nice and clean.

Thanks for the advice,

Went for the EBC Black Slotted and Dimpled discs with Red ceramic pads in the end, will give them a blast.
