And still, the answer is next year.

330i is in BMW worldwide press kit btw, so anyone who wants to figure out if it's worth waiting for can look there.
Thank you for pointing me to this as I was most curious about the power bump in the 330 debuting next year. It looks like a bump of 12 hp to 252 while torque stays the same at 258. Not earth shattering, that's for sure.

This new BMW EfficientDynamics modular engine will share a common design blueprint, with 3, 4 and 6-cylinder inline cylinder arrangements, a displacement per cylinder of 500 cc and very lightweight, thermally optimized all-aluminum construction. The crankcase is very rigid due to its closed-deck design – which means that the cylinder water jacket is closed at the top – while thermally joined, high-strength cylinder liners with twin-wire, arc-sprayed coating save weight, allow greater thermal transfer due to the thinner cylinder wall thickness and reduce internal friction.
The new BMW 340i Sedan inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine.

The new EfficientDynamics 6-cylinder engine is equipped with the latest generation of BMW’s innovative TwinPower Turbo technology, featuring twin-scroll turbocharger, High Precision Injection and Double-VANOS variable camshaft timing. It also incorporates VALVETRONIC fully variable valve lift.
Looks like an upgraded N55. The press release states a single twin-scroll engine.

However, it looks like it is adopting some of the S55 technologies into the B58: It mentions a closed-deck design, as well as the arc-sprayed cylinder linings for better efficiency. Even the 6-speed transmission features the rev-matching found in the F80/F82 manual as well.

We will have to wait and see until we get more intricate details on the car and engine.

It's had that in different markets other than North America (and probably some other places)

If those charts are correct the xdrive model now only sits 5mm higher than the regular models.

I wonder how the suspension reworks flowed through to xdrive? I didnt see any xdrive specific info with regard to the track pack or suspension in general

Here in Germany an immensely high percentage of all sold 3-series are company cars. And companys usually want to keep the cost down, so most of those are halogen.

Well damnit, that makes sense...... I'm still surprised that Xenons aren't just the standard. Imagine the money BMW would save by NOT developing a halogen option....

I like these changes a lot. Subtle, and refreshing. Nailed it BMW! Don't mess with the f30/f80 too much. They're already fantastic cars! Can't wait to see them on the road!

lol

I was looking for a reason to cancel my order and order an LCI. But the bigger difference this year is the 340i

From what I have seen and read, I am not going to be waiting for the LCI

Yea I don't even own an f30. But my girlfriend is interested in upgrading to this platform one day and I've never actually been turned off by an LCI like this does to me.

These cars are so square and sharp. Why on earth give it curvy wavy tail lights? The pre LCI light bars that are sharp and parallel look a million times better to me even lacking LED brake lights.

That's a European Individual interior. But an all black leather dash currently is an unadvertised, Priority 1 option for the U S.

I'm surprised that the F80 M3 already got a facelift. It's just one year in production... That's way too early!
But good for used M3 buyers, since the pre-LCI is becoming cheaper now...

Well that seems to be the norm since the M3 doesn't come out until a few years of the 3 series being out. Then when the time is here for the LCI the M3 is basically brand new.

This happened when the 08 M3 came out and got the LCI the next year

Will the steering changes that are listed for the 340i be applied to the rest of the 2016 3/4 series lineup? Or is that all going to trickle down later with the engine upgrades?
