Doesn't look like they can code NBT yet. Video in motion is one of the things I wanted to code.

So far I only tried the following coding:

1. Coded ASS to remember last setting - WORKED.
2. Coded turning signal from 3 to 5 blinks - WORKED.
3. Coded Gear Shift Indicator 2 from inactive to active - NOT WORKING (lost gear display altogether). Reverted to original setting.

The rest aren't very useful to me so haven't tried them. Note their website also listed one can code the Eco Pro mode to not engage ASS - I couldn't find the option in the app and would have coded it if available.

Hope it helps.

Keep us posted with updates. Even if you just experiment with all the options ICarly offers to confirm what does/doesn't work.

An update from last night. I'd already used Carly for some things, the day it came out for the F-series. Simple things like 5 blinks, comfort close, etc.

Last night I tried to get the gear indicator to show which gear I was in instead of just "D" or "DS". I also coded the speed option so I have a digital speedometer. The speedometer was fine, but I noticed something I've never seen before with Carly.

I would try to select options and I'd get an error that what I had selected to code was too different and it couldn't be coded with the other codings I'd selected. I had to select things one at a time and code them individually. This is something I hadn't seen before with my other BMW's.

Also, Carly has some issues with the KOMBI specifically. First, the door unlock option and the 3 blink signal are ALWAYS reset whenever you code the KOMBI. I didn't change these options, but this morning I had to turn the door locks back to all from just the drivers and I had to turn the 3 blink on using iDrive. The settings I coded were still there, but I had to turn those back on.

Second, whatever happened Carly did not like trying to turn on the gear indicator. I tried the option to show gear selection, not the show in sport just the regular, and it completely freaked out the car. KOMBI started showing errors about convertible tops and every single option I don't have was showing errors, etc. Carly said it failed to code, but it definitely coded something and the KOMBI lost it's mind. Fortunately Carly takes backups first, so I restarted Carly and restored the backup from before I started coding last night. Everything was fine again. I tried again to get the gear selector working, and then it just disappeared all together. So I haven't been able to get that piece working yet. I believe that mimics _JL_'s experience with this.

So far, coding the F30 for me has been a much bigger problem than BMW's of past using Carly. It hasn't borked anything permanently, but it did give me a good scare last night when the KOMBI went crazy.

Another thing I've noticed is when I code the FEM, my mirrors always reset and move and I have to adjust them and commit them to memory again. Not sure what's up with that, but it's irritating as well.

Anyway, just following up with my experience.

That's disappointing news, weiln12. I used Carly for my wife's previous E88 128 convertible and it worked great - no having to do one item at a time, etc. Not quite sure what the problem is with the F-cars, because the principle is the same - read coding data, modify, write coding data. Apparently the new "network" and whatever read/write protocol that implies is far different than the CANbus of the E-series cars.

By comparison, E-Sys has improved vastly over the past year or two and coding both my F30 and the wife's new F23 was relatively easy, particularly since you can save the coding data, disconnect, take the computer inside to do the modifications on a copy of the saved data, then reconnect and push the data back using the modified file. No more sitting in the car searching for the feature to be coded while the engine's idling.

@roundel335 - Yeah, I haven't been nearly as impressed with Carly for the F30 as my prior E-series were. I just need to get the ENET cable so I can really start coding as that looks to be the way to go.

Weiln12, did you send this info over to the app maker? I've had Carly for about a year now, coding on an '09 Z4 and a '13 Mini with good results. This is a bit disheartening to hear but that is a very responsive group and I'm sure they'd love the feedback.

I bought a 435i a couple weeks ago but then left her behind on a long trip...so haven't plugged Carly in yet. Will report back here when I do...maybe within the next week or so.

I forgot to mention that I wasn't able to get that non-Sport-mode gear selector display to work using E-Sys, so maybe it's not valid for US cars?

STR3T - I did provide them some feedback when I first used Carly for the F30, and I explained that it kept resetting the locks and blinks. I don't think they responded to that. I also gave them feedback that when they released the F coding, they broke E series coding. They did acknowledge that and got a fix out in a couple of days.

I have not submitted feedback for last night's issue. I'll see about trying to code it again tonight and get the actual steps I've taken, etc. I have found them pretty responsive, and they do keep working to update the app.

roundel335 - Well that would not be ideal. I'm already kind of irritated I can't get "True" speed.

I don't get it about the US, why is it impossible to get actual numbers on things? I can't get actual speed, and I can't get actual fuel tank readings (neither are BMW specific). Seriously, tell me what is actually happening and let me deal with it. Grrr....

I've got the digital speed readout working and the speed correction turned off on both of my F-chassis cars, so I'm not quite sure what's going on with your situation unless it's just Carly that's not working correctly. With E-Sys, it's pretty cut-and-dried, albeit with more steps required to accomplish what Carly does with just a few clicks. Can't really comment on the fuel tank readings as there are no codings for anything related to that in any of the "cheat sheets" or the BMW Coding Database tool. My fuel gauges seem to work well in both cars.

It's really pretty easy with Esys....and you do things yourself. I had read several people bricking the ECU with Carley which caused me to stop using it with my E90. When you do it with Esys you see what you are changing within the Ecu and I think the danger is far less as long as you do things like keep the engine on.

roundel335 - There is a note in Carly that for US cars they can't show the "true" speed at all. On my prior E-series, I could change that and the digital speedometer would show a different (but still wrong) speed than the analog speedometer. I've tried changing that with Carly, but whatever I do the analog and digital are the same and they're still off. I wouldn't be frustrated if it were close, but on every BMW I've owned the speedometer isn't even close. I've checked with several devices, and when the speedo says 85MPH, I'm only going 80-81MPH. I get frustrated when my car can't even tell me what it's doing. Maybe it's just a Carly thing and I can code that out with ESys once I get my cable. I really wish there was a way to use ESys with my wifi OBD2 adapter I use for Carly. I mean, it is an IP based OBD adapter right...

Fuel isn't nearly as bad on the BMW's as my Tundra, which SWEARS it's empty and about to die with 7 gallons left in the tank. The fuel comment was more a generalization about how the indicators in our vehicles aren't really honest all the time. But I'm one of those crazies that want's the iDrive display to show nothing but gauges like an airplane cockpit. I don't want dummy lights or warnings, just give me gauges.

Actually, the Carly adapter is Bluetooth. E-Sys looks for a connection via the ethernet port on your laptop. It won't recognize BT at all - at least, I've not been able to make it do so. If your laptop doesn't have an ethernet/RJ45 connector, you'll need to find a device that does. Pretty sure that you can't use a USB-to-ethernet adapter, either.

Coding the speedo correction affects the analog (gauge) speedometer; it appears that the digital readout, which gets added to the "list" of things you can display in the center of the cluster, then gives the same reading as the analog. I can guarantee that it does fix the approximately 3 MPH slow reading (actual speed 67, speedo reading 70). All speedos are going to be somewhat innacurate unless they're calibrated and "certified", such as the ones in Law Enforcement cars. Even your GPS will give you a 1-2 MPH difference from the "corrected" reading once you've coded it, but the GPS is generally reading too slow as well.

Yep...seems like there's a weekly update for the Android Carly, but still no coding for "F-models" (their words). We're a long ways from "late 2015", which was when they were supposed to release it.

roundel335 - The Android adapter is BT, but the iPhone one is WiFi as iPhone's don't have the BT support that allows it to work. The Carly adapter creates a wifi network called "Carly Adapter" and I connect to that and then the vehicle.

IndotagSwizz - It works right now for iOS ONLY. They do not have an Android version which they say will require a new adapter. I don't have my Android/BT adapter anymore so I can't test to see if it can connect at all, or just no coding. On my E90 it would connect, but couldn't code because I needed a physical cable for Android on that.

I coded comfort close of sunroof/mirrors. In fact, this morning, when I got out, held my finger on the drivers door handle and watched the mirrors fold in. When I leave and unlock, they unfold automatically. Their website shows a list of things you can code for F-series, although getting them to work is a bit of a challenge in my experience.

Like I said though, I've had some issues with it. Fortunately I was able to restore a backup (it's taken automatically) to get back to where I was.

Yes, the Android adapter is BT, and coding requires their 2nd Generation adapter, but they still don't have the feature working. All that aside, E-Sys likely won't work with your IOS/WiFi adapter, but you could certainly try to see if it will recognize it and connect. Nobody in the coding forums for 2- and 3-series seems to have done so, though - everyone's using a cable as far as I can tell.
