LC2i Line Output Converter Installation

I'm in the process of adding a Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-10 inch sub enclosure with integrated amp to balance out my 328i's factory HiFi system.

My question is where is an ideal place to tap into to obtain a signal for the LC2i as well as a 12v lead. Also, where is the factory amp located? After removing some of the insulation in the trunk there are two different amps (driver side rear wheel well & one in the center of the trunk) and I'm not sure which one to tap into.

Have you had any luck with this? I am trying to do the same thing with my 2013 328i.

To my understanding the Hifi Amp is in the left wheel well, and the best place to get a full range signal is from one of the underseat woofers. As for the remote wire i tapped into an antenna switch-on cable that is located just behind the rear left seat the small part of the seat that pulls out if you have folding seats. This antenna powers down after 15 minutes of locking the car.

Hope this is helpful.

Sorry misread your question,12v lead is best from the battery so that way you don't tamper with existing electrics. Just run an inline fuse for safety.

You will need to run power and ground wires to the amp anyway, so invest in a 2-way fused distribution block and run one lower gauge wire from the battery to the distro block and then individual leads from there to the amp and the LC2i. The LC2i is auto-sensing, so you'll only need to wire a remote lead and the RCA's from the LC2i to the amp.

Since you are adding a sub, best wires to tap into are indeed the under-seat subs (don't like calling them subs though ). You can simply identify the colors schemes of the wires and then locate them where they are going out from the amp in the trunk and tap them there.

Good luck!

I would get the technic harness which will provide you an easy way to get signal without cutting into the factory cables.
I have a harness on the way which should make it plug and play. I think the biggest issue is figuring out how to get a remote turn on signal
The power to the amp and lc2i is easy as the battery is in the boot

That does Bodrulm123 no good, as he doesn't have the hi-fi or HK system. Bodrulm123, you need to access one of the underseat woofers and tap the wires leading to it, send those to a subwoofer amp that has speaker level inputs. You only need to tap one, low frequencies are summed to mono so there's no need to tap both woofer wires.

I have a 2013 bmw f30 with the hifi system. I want to add a subwoofer. I know the amp to tap into is in the left wheel well. Which color wires from the harness of the hifi amp run to the under seat woofers? has anyone had any luck tapping into remote turn on and power source from the amp harness? (I have a lc2i)
