JB4 - risks and issues

I have been reading a lot about JB4 here and although I have no intention to void my warranty and jeopardise the engine (yet), I wonder how high the risk on B58 is? Those of you who have experience with it:
- Are you using it in combination with MPPSK (or other mods)?
- How many km have you been driving it for and how hard?
- Have you had engine-related issues with it and what?

I was little hesitant but pulled the trigger. Have a brand new 2019 440ix. Waited to hit 1,200 miles and bought the JB4. Car is stock on 93 octane

Have had the JB4 2 weeks. No problems! Pulls hard. Smashed the gas pedal many times. No problems so far. I'm getting more confident with it each day
Trying to get some clean logs for review by BMS over on N54

Buy it!

Thanks for the post. I am sure it would be well known if anything would fail after 2 weeks
I am more interested in those who have used it for >2 years, as I don't normally change cars every 5 weeks )

I have a 2018 440i GC and have had a jb4 on my car for about 4000 miles now. so far, knock on wood, no issues at all. everything running smooth and good. the car pushes. FBO with jb4 (EWG and FF wires), MPE, ER catless dp, bms intake. would love to give u HP numbers but never dyno the car.

If it helps, i made best of 410/426 on map 5 with just a bms intake, cg 5" catted dp, MPE which probably doesn't add hp, and 3 gallons of e85 mixed with a full tank of 91.

The reality is the JB4 has been on the turbo BMW engines for 12+ years now. If they had issues, I doubt they'd still be selling them.

I put one on my 3.0L Audi engine and insanely happy with it (it's been 3 months now). I went the Active Autowerke for my 340 (to be different), but I like the JB4 for the smooth WOT shifts.

Just make sure you use the proper map for the fuel/mods you are using. I've seen a few b58 owners abuse the jb4(not knowing what there doing) and destroying their engines.

Logging is an invaluable tool for any tune.

Jb4 has been around for almost 10 years now (started on N54 platform) Well proven and well developed.
