Thanks for the pic. I've been wanting to get this kit but was looking high and low for this kit on the black int. since I have the same set up as you. Looks great. has it held up well? thx

It's been great actually. The raw carbon fiber is nice and has a nice texture to it. A lot of CF I see, even the real stuff, looks fake because they coat it in so much resin that it ends up looking like cheap plastic.

The raw CF is not shiny and is slightly porous, which gives it a high quality feel, but may not hold up well if something was to get spilled on it. I do not know to be honest. I was told not to use any commercial cleaners or Armoral type of products on it, the same with the Alcantara, so time will tell.

The alcantara is nice and has not faded in the Texas sun so far, but my windows are tinted and I always use sun blockers in the windshield when I park, so time will also tell.

I do wish the //Mperformance stitching was not so big and loud, and have considered dying the white lettering grey to subdue it some, but it is no where near as loud as the giant red stripe and piano gloss interior it came with.. just not my thing.

Thanks for the info it's much appreciated. Sounds like it's the way to go. I have the sport line but lucked out and did not get the ugly red stripe but instead I have the black stripe with the brushed metal. I loved it at first but not as much anymore. Going to go go the mperformance int. thx

That looks just great!
I'm still thinking of installing them too. I don't know why BMW doesn't make the carbon look as a factory Option (I had it on the E46).
I like the carbon much more. With the carbon set there are almost no reflections in the side and front windows compared to the Alu-brushed. (Those reflections are a pain to me.)

I bet, many BMW owner ordering the M-Paket would also factory order the carbon look. (including the other carbon/alcantara parts from the M Performance set)

Did anyone else manage to separate and re-attach the long stripe going through the dashboard to their CF kit? I am definitely doing this upgrade - I hated all factory trim options, eventually decided to go with the high gloss black but still hate it! However (personal preference) I do love the red stripe - it totally makes sense with all other red accents in my interior. Therefore I'd love to keep it but I feel like I'm going to need more detailed instructions/ideas about how to keep it and not break stuff when I'm doing this upgrade!

isn't that just the M-Sport wheel wrapped in alcantara and CF?

That was a photo from the paris auto show I believe when they showed off the newer sport wheel. The interior trim kit can be purchased but I can't find anything on the steering wheel. Unlike the M sport wheel this is hollow in the center spoke of the wheel like on the M6. The msport is solid in the center. Honestly I think that is the sexiest interior trim I have seen in a very long time.

I park outside during the day about 50% of the time does this trim stay significantly cooler than the m sport aluminum trim?

Just wanted to thank the people that contributed to this thread. I just installed my interior kit last night and it took me about 35 minutes without any major issues. Hardest part was pulling the wiring for the ventilation up front. Was a little tricky holding the whole thing with one hand and trying to loosen the small tabs in order to pull the wires. Definitely easier with 2 people.

Just a note on the door handles. I think some people are over thinking it. If you look at the bottom of the handles you will see two tabs. I just used some cheap plastic trim removal tools.. placed them into the tabs and pulled up.. once the handle separated, I simply started pulling by hand from the bottom up and they came out with no problems. Don't be afraid to use some force. No broken tabs or anything. 2 pics below showing the pull tabs.

Thank you for the great information. Using this DIY I found it pretty easy to do. In case anyone is curious (I was), I weighed the M Performance pieces and my gloss black / red stripe trim from my sport line. For those of you thinking carbon fiber is lighter, think again:
M Performance Sport line
iDrive console 174 grams 160 grams
Driver, dash vent 75 grams 71 grams
Center dash piece 349 grams 327 grams
Door pull (each) 107 grams 100 grams

Total difference of 68 grams according to my kitchen scale. Not enough to make any difference, but I found it interesting.

Garage List
So tempted to do this... I think the best price I saw for this kit was $700 on eBay (seller was tied to a dealership). Is that where everyone is getting it?

So I've got all my pieces installed except the big boy around the front vents. I'm having a hell of a time disconnecting the power for some reason. I think at first I was pulling the larger cable in the middle instead of the little one but I'm not sure which is supposed to be disconnected. I'm waiting for a friday to come by to help hold the vent while I pull but in the mean time im

Any thoughts on how to easy wiggle that out? I know you just squeeze the from the side and pull..
