F31 upgrade ideas
Hello all, I have a 2015 328 XI F31 M Sport Wagon with DHP
I'd like to make it a bit zippier... so I was thinking of upgrades that increase are flow and a tune... Can other F31 owners post their cars and upgrades? |

The above post is pretty much a full bolt-on setup, so if you want to go all the way on the stock turbo, that's what you do.
If you want something simpler however, try Dinantronics Sport. Very simple piggyback tune that is designed to be run on stock hardware. I had one for almost a year and it was great.

I am thinking of starting with a JB4 then going from there... If I can find a shop close to me that can do a bootmod product, I might go for that... still need to do research
thanks for the advice everyone... |

You can do bootmod3 with your own laptop. I have Stage 1 flashed on my mostly stock wagon. But I'll be stage 2 next weekend hopefully when my chargepipe, ER HFC downpipe, and FMIC come in. Should have also picked up a DV+ but it slipped my mind until just now.

No reason to get JB4 when BM3 is available IMO. You can instal BM3 just as easily in you're own garage with a laptop and an ENet cable.

You can run BM3 with JB4 tho. Get the best of both worlds. BM3 for the backend flash tune. JB4 for the boost control/WMI/E85 blends

Only reason to stack them is for E and WMI as you mentioned. BM3 covers all other bases, including boost control, without JB4.

MHI turbo upgrade - Bimmerworld
AFE Momentum intake ER Charge pipe Epic Motorsport flash tune I'm happy, could be making more power with DP and Exhaust, doing those this summer after intercooler upgrade.

I have an N20 and happy with ER CP, EP FMIC, upgraded TIP, and BM3 stage 1. Also retrofitted the 335i M Performance exhaust. Passed on the DP to avoid smogging hassle.

So an update to my wonderful plan of pumping up the boost...
Just got a Drivetrain Malfunction warning... called the BMW Master Tech who remotely diagnosed the issue (goto love BMW) as a waste gate failure. I checked it out, and I can actually see the waste gate actuator (basically the arm) has rusted loose and is just hanging there. Apparently this is under warranty... so I have to fix this first. Good thing this happened because I doubt it would be covered after the install. This happened two days before my scheduled install. The Maine winters are rough on waste-gates, and anything under the car for that matter. So now I have a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder until I get it fixed. Has this happened to anybody else? Any recommendations on waste gate preventative maintenance for salty roads and long winters? I plan on taking this badboy to the ski lodge every weekend. Can't stand the X5 |
