Hey guys so I want your guys opinion on a muffler delete I'm considering for my 2015 328i (just posted about cosmetic mods so I wanted to make this a separate thread). I want my car to be louder and have nice burples. I'm not interested in any boot mods atm. Anyways a muffler delete is relatively cheap in comparison to say a high performance exhaust system. Does anyone know how much the car might drone? I'be also heard changing the downpipe might bring out more crackles and pops. Lmk!

AA axle back and call it a day. Muffler delete will drone without a doubt, sounds nice though.

I have a muffler delete, new exhaust tips with JB Stage 1. Sounds decent. I am paranoid with the new California exhaust noise laws, but itching to go the catless DP route as well.

How much did this cost to get done? I ordered a new rear diffuser with the duel tips like this. Wonder what the price is to just have them do a muffler delete and run it just like this.

That is 100% dependent on the shop you go to. Not all muffler shops are created equal. One shop might do a stellar job for $50. One might charge you $200 with shitty welds and uneven tips. You just have to find one near you that does good work at a reasonable price. Luckily I have a place in Orlando that I go to that does top tier work for pretty cheap. I really don't know how they make money lol.

Its way too loud from what I gather, thats why I'm only considering a catless DP, and leave the rest of the OEM exhaust in place, muffler, resonator etc, besides, the cat is like 70% of the restriction. Plus theres no emission test for my province. The other thing I gather from all my researching is, the burbble comes from the catless DP, not so much from muffler or resonator delete

Cant wait to get BM3 flashed so I can turn of the cold start nonsense and also see what the burble settings can do. Down the line, I may try to pick up a used MPE. |

Anyhoo, I have a muffler delete ONLY, no other mods or tune and I get burbles even in Eco Mode! Not as aggressive/obvious as Sport, but they exist. However, Eco Mode is now the 'droniest' mode, haha. So beware as others have said, it will drone at times. But, I typically drive in Sport, not as bad when cruising. |
