I have since dropped the map to a 91 map but feel like something is not right.
There isn't anything obvious that I can see in this log, but I am not an expert either. The main things look ok to me in this one. Clearly if it is throwing a code something is not right. Is it always Cyl 1? Try troubleshooting by moving around the spark plugs and coil packs.

Yes always cyl 1, I’ve moved coil packs and changed plugs. My initial concern was the injector being stuck open but I don’t really have any other symptoms of that. I appreciate you looking at my logs though !

Whatup fam! Switched from BM3 Stage2 93 Oct to BM3 Stage 1 93 Oct today at 147k miles. Seems a lot smoother when driving. Can anyone give me some insight on this: https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=65ca...040d6609f5c826

Current mods: MST Intake, Burger Turbo Inlet, Evolution Racewerks HF DP & xHP Stage 3.

Thanks in advance!

Corrections aren't looking great. Its either time to swap your spark plugs or you've got a bad batch of gas.

Thanks so much! I normally fill up at Costco, so probably the culprit. Also, I changed from OEM to NGK sparks around 127k miles and am at 147k now; do you think it’s about time? I thought it was typically a 40k-60k interval? I know there’s probably a thread on gapping, but if you know off the top, what gap should I be running on NGKs? Thanks!

I'd definitely try a different gas station and report back with another log. Then if that doesn't fix it I would replace the plugs. 40k between plugs should be fine imo.

As for the gap I do not recommend gaping them. 0.030'' is what I recommend which is oem factory.

Thanks man. Really appreciate it. I put them in straight out of the box so that's good to hear. Will report back with logs once I refill. I also heard running 2 gals of E85 would help timing (without E85 map and flexfuel kit).

Hate to ask for too much but would you mind weighing in on a post I started on oil? (https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2082140) Trying to get a better understanding of what to run. Thanks again!

Oh for sure two gallons of e85 would help significantly.

Motul xcess gen 2 5w40 is the way I go.

dipping in and out of power while on it in sport+

Power delivery doesn't feel smooth while accelerating hard. Im new to the forum and can't figure out how to link an image so ill just type it out

Log of ignition timing

Ignition timing 1: 14.8
Ignition timing 2: 6.8
Ignition timing 3: 27.6
Ignition timing 4: 14.8
Ignition timing 5: 27.6
Ignition timing 6: 27.6

This data was logged at roughly the time where I felt the the most lack of power
On the fence about buying and replacing plugs as someone said it could be a vans actuator.

Worth being said I'm using bm3 stage 2 93oct tune.

Any input helps

unfortunately there is little to nothing we can do with the data you provided. There is no way you are getting 27 degrees of advance timing on WOT.

You need a pull in (preferably) 4th gear from around 2 to 6.5k rpm on WOT. Tick every log parameter. Then upload the log file on bootmod3 site if you know how. Worst case upload the log file here and someone else will upload it on bootmod3 site or datazap

As DieselDuck said - you need to understand logs don’t work as snapshots - you need the full picture, the progression, the various parameters in combination. Do a proper log (see post 1 of this thread) and post it here, it is pretty simple once you have the log.

You don't upload to bootmod3.. if you create a log it automatically does all of that and you just have to post the link to it. It's way easier and simpler than fucking with datazap etc.

I'm on MHD so I didn't know it auto-uploads on BM3, fair enough. What I do know is I prefer reading logs on datazap (that's just preference) by a mile and uploading it on datazap takes about a few seconds.

Yeah, I didn't expect you to know in this case.

See I much prefer the bootmod3 interface for logs but it's just preference I guess. Datazap is easy to use for sure!

You're not logging throttle angle. Does it feel like its hesitating when it overboosts? Wondering how much the throttle closes. But the overboost doesn't seem extreme to me.

I apologize for the cross post. I had a other thread where I posted my logs for a bit of insight but didn't get any traffic on them so I thought posting here would get a bit more exposure... My logs with my comments below.

————————————
(Bootmod3 OTS maps used)
Here are some pulls from today.

Stage 2 91 oct (3rd gear)
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=65d2...f7375a14155528

Stage 2 91 oct (4th gear)
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=65d2...f2c967f9aa527f

Boost falls off 8psi over the rpm band, and when looking at the "Boost target" actual boost is following the target pretty well... Is this normal for this map? BM3 tuners bled off boost as rpm increased or am I misinterpreting this info? Also seems like there is a 2-4deg timing retard to correct ...something? There is no knock, and AFRs look sweet (even for me! ).

This tank is almost empty so I'm going to put some E30 back in, and try that map again... Stay tuned!

———-

OK... I'm back with E30 logs. Keep in mind that my stock clutch can't hold the E30 tune well but this is way better than what I had before. AFRs more in-line with what I'm used to seeing here too... I still am feeling sketch about the part throttle (the conversation was about stoich AFRs under boost), but you guys have given me a little more confidence about it.

Stage 2+ E30 (3rd Gear)
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=65d2...f7fd189d7dd550

Stage 2+ E30 (4th Gear, little clutch slip at 3300rpm, and 3700rpm)
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=65d2...f7375a14156014

3rd gear E30 pull is the cleanest.. Looking at boost it fades about 2psi or so as RPMs build, but the difference here is that it deviates from the target boost line by that 2psi. So I am losing boost up top. With that, I see the big timing correction. There is a 7-8 deg timing retard over the rpm band!!!

Thinking poor gas quality, plugs or coils... any thoughts?

You should go to the first page of this thread to see what parameters you should log. There are a few more that would be very helpful to see here such as RAM Load Actual etc.

Your E30 mix must be off because those E30 logs look terrible and you're probably getting some knock with those kinds of corrections.

Your 91 logs don't look bad which is what makes me think the E mix was off.

Finally, for our stock turbos yes, we taper off the load target as you progress through the RPM range because they just aren't capable enough to hold load to redline.

Hope this helped.

Edit: I'm not sure how low your fuel was but the car reduces power once your fuel levels cause the fuel light to go off.
