Catted DP and BMS intake

I just passed the 30k warranty for my 17 340 so now it's time to go for broke imo. My question is what sort of power gains will I see if I go for the catted DP and intake combo with my JB4? I'm currently running stock save for the JB4 and MPPSK and I'm limited to 91 gas here in Colorado.

not sure about the 91 gas, but i think Map 2 should be possible with a catted DP ( Map 1 for sure with the JB4 ), i thought the difference between map 1 and map is between 20-30 hp with DP , dP gives your turbo better breathing and also better sound,, intake i,m not a fan , the stoch airfilter is mostly better !!

Just my $.02 - Sell the JB4 and get a Mission Performance tune.... Probably a 70 + HP gain w/a high flow catted DP...

I dyno'd (93 octane, sea level) with just DP and intake (no tune):
#1: 333 hp / 375 lb-ft
#2: 344 hp / 355 lb-ft

Those are SAE dyno numbers if that means anything.

No, just back to back dynos. Temp was in the 30's in Texas. Still better than the 320/330 manufacturer numbers.

Look into the VRSF catted it's fairly priced well considering that it's catted.

ER makes a fantastic catted downpipe for the B58

I wouldnt even get the BMS intake that overpriced $20 manufactured intake is so cheap the allen bracket bolt keeps getting loose and lost causing the intake to rattle around the engine bay. If you do buy it make sure to use extra blue loctite prior to installing it.

Strangely same thing happened to me. It would constantly get lose and rattle. Eventually the bracket broke off as well. I ended up re-buying the intake again.

If I were to do it again, I would just do a K&N air filter. If you decide to mod more (Going catless, meth/e85, pure stage 1), maybe opt for one of the other intake setups like injen.

As far as sound goes:

BMS Intake > K&N Filter....can't speak for the other brands.

BMS provides a 5 year warranty against defect so if the intake bracket broke they will replace it for free. The earlier intakes had a thinner bracket mount, it was revised to be stronger in the later batches.

Mike
I took the MAF housing, drilled it, and re-threaded it and installed a 10MM bolt and so far it's been solid. The allen screw they provide isn't enough to hold the bracket in place even using loctite and over-torquing it still caused it to get loose overtime and rattle around the bottom portion of the airbox.

If they offer warranty that's great to know for future reference.
