Don't do it. I 'had' to do it in my recent E60 530d as it wouldn't regenerate and was of an age that goodwill would be non existent.

The change in exhaust note made it sound like an old car. For the first few days I thought it was a good idea, but quickly realised otherwise.

Is it really worth making your car illegal and unable to pass a genuine MOT for the sake of a fairly small extra gain on top of what you already gain with a stage stage 1 remap with the DPF intact?
