So, xDrive only on the 340i and no 335d. Still, it looks like it's got proper wheelbarrow tailpipes rather than the hidden things on the saloon.

I like grey cars, the good greys anyway, but that struck me as bloody odd too! Dark blue, grey, grey.

The only good thing with grey is it hides the dirt from our UK roads pretty well.

However why there are 2 types of grey is a little bland to say the least.

Ouch. I only buy grey cars from very reliable manufacturers - one Citroen and one LR.

There should be an M340d coming as well later.

I'll take an M340i Msport special or whatever it is called in any colour except dark blue or grey or black or white

At a push I'd take primer (dravit) grey to match my daughter's primer (moonstone) mini...

So if sales are due to start in September - and the M340i will be available from launch - presumably not too long before it appears on the configurator?

They haven't announced pricing for M340i saloon nor touring so don't expect them to be on the configurator until then.

M340i saloon is on the German configurator and priced at €61,950 and German press is saying €63,250 for the touring. So taking into account the difference between current BMW UK/German pricing then I'd expect the saloon to be around £48k and the touring around £49k. Maybe 10% discount achievable for the first cars??

looks better than the saloon !!
nice to see that that ambient lighting package is brighter , or is that just the video ?
the grille looks far more acceptable on the tourer than it does on it's saloon variant .
overall thumbs up !!!!

C43 saloon is about £49.5k otr and estate about a grand more so that looks reasonable, although most people spec Premium or Premium Plus on Mercs which add a fair whack more.

With paint and a couple of extras will easily be a £50k car, £55k without a lot of effort.... but the discounts might bring the PCP numbers back to something that is a few grand down and less than £600 a month...

Was just thinking if first cars are due to be delivered in September then orders will probably need to be placed in July and hence specifications and prices ought to be on the configurator by then (so around a month from now?).

I'm guessing your estimate of £49k above is for a standard spec car in which case one with a few extras could well have a list price closer to £55k? Think isleaiw1 has just made the same point and if true it will take more than a 10% discount for me to place an order!

Yep, that's basis standard spec but that is pretty good straight off. Adaptive LEDs, 19" alloys, Live Cockpit Professional, Parking Assistant, Apple CarPlay (1 year sub), Sports Exhaust, M Sport Differential, Speed Limit Info, Ambient Lighting.

Options include Laserlights, HUD, Pano Roof, Parking Assistant Plus (surround cameras) Adaptive Suspension, Driving Assistant Professional, HK.

given I would really want to add surround cameras, pano roof, adaptive and HK (and Laserlights would be nice) I reckon I can easily get to £56.5k based on your estimates... which will need 18% plus off to be competitive for me....

I've got those options on my X3 (except Laserlights as not an available option) and would have to say they increase the premium feel. Most of them would increase the GFV though so some £ can be clawed back, assuming PCP.

I know the M40i X3 has been / is being discontinued but what would the list price have been with most of those extras on? The touring has to be a few k cheaper...

Don't think it's being discontinued. They're just introducing an upgraded B58 engine as far as I'm aware. Anyway, check here to see prices: https://www.bmw.co.uk/pdfs/price-lis..._PriceList.pdf

Thanks, I think it was in the off topic that someone has said it was being stopped..

That's way too complex for my quick *** packet calculation but I quickly got over £55k without trying so a list with extras for the Touring of up to £55k seems reasonable...

Edit to add link to topic in off topic...

Agreed tick 4 packs and it'll be 55k+ putting it into 5k down and £700 a month bracket which is just daft for a 3 series.

I think they will be rare beasts and with the pressure on C02 via the EU targets I very much doubt they will support them as they did the 340i.

Still can't stand that front grille but like all before this and most probably after with 3ers & 5ers the Tourings always look so much better than the Saloons.
