Dab going off when using Demist blower
Driving to work this morning the DAB radio has been having some issues. Keeping going on and off. I just thought it was interference etc.
This morning the wife complained it was warm , and I turned the front screen demist off (effectively the blower) , and the radio came on.. I hadn't noticed it was not on as we were chatting. Then she said, she could do with more heat.... (the control are less than 12 inches away), and so I hit the blower button and the radio went off... A few checks/Tests - it only does it on DAB, on normal radio its fine, on Media streaming it works, Just DAB it goes off. Cars booked in for service on Tuesday for its 2nd service. Anybody experienced this before? Any idea what it could be before I expect a large bill? (Ive read a few threads after searching and I don't have dash cams, front or rear, and it might be a loose earth?) Cheers

I've not experienced myself. But have heard of other owners with the same issues over the last few years. I think the DAB antenna is the lowest section of the rear screen heater element . On my 2 series the last section doesn't demist and looks broken.

[Update} In for service yesterday. doing a diagnostic check on the car found a short circuit, from the front puddle lights. This was caused by non OEM puddle lights being fitted that died.
When clearing that fault, the DAB fault was also recitified. I collected the car last night and travelled home, this morning cleared the front screen and pressed the rear screen de mist and DAB went off. Puddle lights are still working. They charged £12.50 to fix the fault and it isn't.... I'm not surprised really.
