duplicating key fob profiles
evening all ,
i have 2 key fobs , one i use the most and has all my settings , seat ,mirror , lights etc on its profile . in the event i misplace the main key and use the second key , is it possible to duplicate all my settings onto both keys ???? i have read loads of threads on other forums about this but nowt specific to the f30/f31 . the owners manual is not much help either . anybody ????? |

at least in my F30, I think all profiles are stored in the car and just referenced by the key. You can back up profiles and load them from a USB stick.
Not sure if you can apply them to a new key but you could probably have a play by unlocking with the new key (which won't load your profile) then going into the idrive and selecting your preferred profile to see if you can 'load' it to the key |

When you activate a profile in the car through iDrive it is assigned to the active key, i.e. the one that was used to unlock the car (assuming of course that the key is still present and someone hasn't run off with it).
At least that's my understanding of it.
