We haven't tested the rear 345mm brakes with our 17" ARC-8 just yet, but we do know that our 17x9" ET30 and 17x9.5" ET35 will clear many 355mm setups with 5mm spacers. While they may be a direct fit with no additional modifications, we'd suggest at least being prepared to run spacers (and potentially roll the fenders as a result) if attempting to fit 17s over these brakes.

1. Is the 19x9 +38 a flat face? What's the best tire size to run for mix street/track duties?

2. Is 18x9 +30 flush or poked on a non-lowered car? What's the best tire size to run for mix street/track duties?

The smaller tires will make things easier, but we haven't tested it ourselves to confirm if there will be any rubbing. I recommend at least being prepared to dial in some negative camber if you do experience any rubbing.

We don't produce a 19x9" ET38, are you referring to the 19x9" ET28? That wheel does indeed use a Profile 3 concave face. We recommend 255/30-19 tires on that size, which will require some front negative camber, and possibly rolled rear fenders and/or negative camber as well depending on ride height and tire brand.

The 18x9" ET30 is pretty aggressive on a stock suspension, and may poke unless negative camber is dialed in. If you go with this size, I recommend 255/35-18 with the appropriate negative camber dialed in, which will help with both performance and tire wear.

Hi Apex, I got several confirmations (from people who have installed the f30 oem 340mm bakes on 17" ARC-8s) that the wheels will clear the brakes. As soon as I get them mounted I will post fitment pictures. These are the brakes I was referring to:

Dang, wanted to order the ARC-8 19x9.5 +33 / 19x9 +28 in Hyper Silver this week but it looks like the 19x9 +28 won't be available for a couple months.

Would it be possible for me to do the 19x8.5" +20 up front? Wouldn't that be about the same fit as 19x9" +28 up front?

Thanks for the post! The 19x8.5" ET20 would only be 1.6mm more aggressive than the 19x9" ET28, so it will look essentially the same on the outside. The only real difference is you'd be running a narrower tire. Keep in mind this fitment (as well as the 19x9" ET28) may also require slight negative camber up front to prevent rubbing.

Front & Rear: 18x9" ET42 with 245/40-18 tires
- Front spacers may be required with certain aftermarket suspensions.

No worries! Some people use ET, others will give a + and then a number to indicate positive offset (+25 for example would be the same as ET25). The majority of OE wheels and aftermarket wheels have a positive offset.

Our wheel profiles (level of concavity) are independent of the offset and depend on the design of the wheel. Oftentimes lower offset wheels are more concave, but that is not always the case and should not be applied as a general rule. When looking at wheels on our website in the specifications section you can see what profile the wheels are. In the case of ARC-8s, profile 1 is a wheel with a flat face and profile 3 is maximum concavity.

The 19x9.5 ET33 is a profile 3 wheel (the most concave). In order to fit that wheel all the way around you would need to run 255/30-19 tires and front spacers. Depending on your tire choice, a rear fender roll may be required.

I reused the 18x8.5" ET38 APEX ARC-8 Front and 18x9.5" ET35 APEX ARC-8 Rear wheels I had on my E90 and now on my 340ix. Looking at the Apex Wheel site for this model it looks like that setup was good. Tires are 225x45/18 and 255x40/18. The car is not lowered and no rubbing issues thus far. My only complaint is that the rear wheels stick out about 3/8" outside the fender well in the rear. The fronts I had put on 5mm spacers to balance the look out but thinking 10mm spacers maybe better. Any thoughts on this setup?

Thanks for the question! While the 18x9.5 ET35 can work on the rear of the F3X, it isn't an ideal bolt-on fitment as you've discovered. If you want to run a larger spacer in the front, I would recommend a 12mm instead of a 10mm. 10mm spacers are not hubcentric on BMWs and can lead to vibrations/excess wear on your wheel mounting hardware. Even with a 12mm spacer, the 18x8.5 et38 should fit but it will be closer to the outside fender for sure.

I would generally recommend our 18x9.5 ET43, but this is only available in our EC-7 wheel design. You could run our 18x9.5 ET58 ARC-8 wheel with a 14 or 15mm spacer to achieve similar results if you are willing to run a large spacer in the rear.
