I've never used the LED lights before but that's weird, the xenons flash instantly because it's just a piece of metal that's controlled by a solenoid that drops out of the way therefore letting out all the light the bulb puts out.

They don't flash instantly, they fade in and you may not be holding the stalk enough for them to illuminate before you let go.

Highway Code says you shouldn't ever flash someone or wave them on. Let them make their own decision. It also means there can be no claim of liability against you in an accident ?

Are you referring to the "Flash to Pass" feature that you use on the highway/autobahn type road when you are approaching from behind?

You are right. I think he means "Flash to pass" feature.. I have the same issue on my halogens. They are dead slow. The xenons I feel are faster.

In Dubai - there are generally 6 driving lanes for one way with the fastest lane allowing upto 120kph legally. And there are random folks on the fastest lane driving at 80kph.

It gets really frustrating knowing that there are 5 other lanes to chose from if you want to drive slower. For these sort of people a fast high beam light helps to get them off the fastest lane.

I just tested with my F30 LCI and I noticed the difference. They don't fade, but there's a notable lag between pulling the stalk and actually the beams illuminating. I also see that the reflectors move up a bit

For everyone who bump into this problem you need to make some coding with both Left and Right FLEs (43,44 addresses in E-Sys)

For High Beam:
LmmIdx05_TimeOn = 00
LmmIdx05_TimeOFff = 00

And if you want you can change Low Beam not only flash-to-pass speed, but also usual turning on Low Beam
LmmIdx02_TimeOn = 00 (standart 03)
LmmIdx02_TimeOn = 00 (standart 03)

Hope it will help someone because I spend an hour to find out this codings

If this is the case it's not an LED property. Incandescent bulbs heat to produce light, so they have a slow response time. This is what allows the use of warm checks to test if the bulb works without visibly flashing. The duration of the warm check pulses is too short for halogens to heat sufficiently to produce light. LEDs don't heat and react much faster, so the pulses will cause LEDs to flash. This is one reason why the warm checks are coded off with LED replacement bulbs.

The above mentioned stock coding to reduce the response time of LCI LED appears to be used as part of the anti-glare system.

My adaptive LEDs are instant. Maybe latest updates fixed that.
