Where is the best place to get an aircon recharge done?

Well 'best' is an automotive air conditioning specialist - if you Google you may find one near you. But if its a straight recharge lots of garages will do it and there isn't really much to choose. The specialist will be better at identifying and correcting a leak if there is one.

Had done by Halfords on the drive. £50 and the job was done.
Ps you need to look under the bonnet before you book to check which refridgerant was used.

Re-gassing is easy, it's fault finding that's hard. With that in mind I'd just pick who's on offer at the time, usually around £50. They don't tend to need much gas unless they're really leaking, but the later gases used in the last few years do tend to be more expensive. With R134a I just bought a bottle for about £60 that did half a dozen top ups but modern stuff is a lot pricier.
