I love the way the motor industry back then used to make them look like old knackered cars, straight off the production line.

Back in the day.........

In 1972 my dad was driving a Triumph 2000 and before that a Rover 2000, both executive luxury fast saloons in their day, then one night he turned up in a BMW 2002tii, 6 months old, I had a look it seemed very basic, cloth trim, no fake wood dash not even a radio. Then he took me for a drive, fuck me it was quick 0-60 around 8 seconds I think, really fast at the time.

Bad news was that I had been happily driving his Triumph 2000 and impressing the girls but i couldn't be insured for the BMW as I was under 25.

Dad died 30 years ago, not sure what he would make of my 440i.
