Clearly, this is sooo subjective - load, elevation, outside temperature, air quality, driving dynamics, etc.
I always use 93 octane, preferably Shell V-power. Most people say the 93 octane is the same everywhere but it's just my choice after doing some research.

2013 328i; JB4 on map1, catless downpipe, muffler delete, always in sport+ with SAT coded:
18-20 mpg most days
BEFORE any mods, I did a trip down to San Diego in eco pro and cruise control around 70 I think and got around 42mpg

I used to average around 330 miles a tank before fill up and now I get 220 -- mods and heavy foot have effectively dropped my mpg by 33.3%

Display says 15.9 always in sport or sport + - then again I drive in Boston and traffic is 24/7.

Edit. Now I'm at 15.8 as of 8/18

Mobile 0w-40. I use 93 octane Shell V-Power. In Florida the roads are flat and super smooth lol.

If you did that on California freeways, the decrease in life expectancy wouldn't be worth the increase in gas mileage.

This is beginning to remind me of a guy who was always talking about his Prius. He'd say things like, "I drove 540 miles to Monterey and back, and averaged 54 mpg."

"Yeah," I'd respond, "but every single one of those miles was in a Prius."

How do you like using MolyGen compared to the competition? I was thinking of making the switch as well. I always hear it's the best oil to use.

It wasn't 540 miles, it was 270. It only felt like 540.

It's measured differently. Besides, higher octane doesn't give higher mileage. If anything it gives less.

I can only go by my result with this first change that I did myself rather than by the stealership.

Thinking of switching to v power as I have racked up some fuel points at Ralph's. If you swipe your Ralph's card prior to inserting your credit card at the pump you get a discount depending on how much you shop at Ralph's for groceries.

I use the e coupons so it's not bad. I don't buy ribs though. I like watching my bill at the register become half of the amount pre swipe. Speaking of which I need to pick up some free Pepperidge farm cookies and dental floss they sent me coupons for. Just need to make sure not to buy anything else

Its easy to get 38 mpg....just cruise at 65 to 70 mph on a long drive like going SF or las vegas....lol.

I actually did 41 mpg on my 428i gc with dinan sport tuner going to las vegas.
