Hi all
Newbie here with his very 1st BMW. 2016 320i sport.

I have a Q about the Connected app.
I downloaded it,registered and connected it to my idrive.
The info showing on my app is very sparse.


Do I need to do something else to view more info ?
I can log into the bmw connecte drive site with no problem.

You need to subscribe to connected drive services.

I think you get the first two or three years for free, then after that it is a subscription job.

Which is the best one to get, Connected drive services or Remote services ?

I am the second owner of this car, so I presume I will need a new subscription.

I think you need ConnectedDrive services set up before anything else will work, like Remote Services. FYI I personally have never used Remote Services in anger... only ever to see if works (which it does!)

Remote services hasn't been working right for ages, I'd wait before buying as ConnectedDrive agent told me they were still working on fixing it....

Connected Drive Services comes as part of the warranty. So if you establish a CDS log-on and register your car you can then buy services like Remote Services...

The registration process sends a code to the car which you then enter on the web screen to establish the linkage.

It may be the case that the first owner registered the car on CDS in which case the dealer should have arranged to remove it so you could establish a new log-on.
