Probably too expensive for most people though
What £300 for springs?!

Thanks for the feedback

I was kind of expecting the colour to be a bit marmite, I haven't seen it in the flesh yet, but would probably have gone with something safer if it was my choice (it wasn't).

The main purpose of this car will be to demonstrate the sports suspension to customers and dealers. We fitted a set to a customer's 335dx on Monday and he loved it (as expected) but this one will get around the country so pretty much anyone who wants to try it can - PM me if you're interested.

It's only a diesel because we sell more spring kits for the 335dx than all the other models put together, so it made sense to use on as the demo. The last two demos have been M cars.

Here's the one that came in on Monday.

The sports kit (springs and dampers) for non-adaptive xDrive cars is £1561.38 and for adaptive xDrive cars is £1826.70. Fitting is extra.

If you already have our spring kit give me a call about upgrading just the dampers.

£1900-ish for non-adaptive and £2200-ish for adaptive if you come to us in Norfolk.

Great to see that you've got a 335xd to demo.

I would be very interested to see it with ACS suspension if you're ever in the Midlands / Birmingham area. Or indeed Bracknell

We'll be at Stourbridge Automotive in the next few weeks, and possibly Mulgari in Bracknell too depending on how busy Ben is.

Colour aside I think this is a master stroke - promote your kits in 'real life' on a real car. This could work out amazing.

Lorcan - you need to catalogue he changes step by step and video each stage for YouTube. Speak to gtsussex or Tengocity about this as it's something we've discussed!

Looking forward to seeing the results.

This car will only be used to demonstrate the sports suspension (and to a lesser extent maybe the engine tuning) and will then be sold on. So it's a relatively short term exercise based on getting the maximum number of people to actually drive the car and experience the difference for themselves.

Our dealer in Surrey, Renaissance, is building two cars in the way you describe and videoing every stage of the conversion. They have a M140i which is getting the "drivers" package i.e. sports suspension, 400hp upgrade, sports exhaust, wheels etc. and a M240i convertible which is getting the more cosmetic conversion - springs, spoilers, wheels, quad exhaust, interior.

Our F31, M2 and an AC Schnitzer i8 are all off to the BMW Festival at Gaydon this weekend then the M2 is going to Car magazine for a test on Thursday so plenty going on.

Of course. We'll also be asking our dealers around the country that we are visiting to contact their customers and let them know

Lorcan I think you should put the ACS tuning box on it to demonstrate the power bump (mention 3 year warranty). Go all out put ACS and even put the ACS wheels on it... ACS engine optics... ACS driver pedals... ACS intercooler...

A nice idea but we'll probably save that for the G20.

Totally concur on the oyster dash. Wankvville tenersee... What were they thinking.
Oyster seats and door cards however look great.
On pre-LCI cars with an Oyster interior the dash is black which looks far better IMHO; never understood why BMW decided to change it for the later cars.

Colour aside an interesting project car and one I'd be interested in having a run in if it ever makes it as far as North Yorkshire!

Quite likely to make it as far as Sandal BMW in Wakefield (I know that's not North Yorks exactly).
