Buying 2 cars at once from same dealer

Calling members who've had the privilege of owning multiple BMWs at the same time - do you have any experience buying 2 from the dealer at the same time?

I'll be ordering/buying a car in November since my current lease(x6) will be up in FEB, and I'll be needing a 2nd car for my wife.

Car #1: A leased vehicle for myself, an X5 or 5-Series. Or possibly CPO M3
Car #2: A used/CPO from dealer - a 3 or 4 series.

Few questions:

1. What experience do you have with purchasing 2 cars at once with BMW? I know my typical limits with negotiating over 1 car, but have you been able to secure any additional discounts or discounts you would've never seen on car #1 had it not been for car #2?

2. How early should I start reaching out to different dealers? Will chatting with online sales reps be the best bet for now?

3. What additional freebies or discounts on services were you able to secure? In other words, did you get any additional benefits that no one typically would ask for?

4. Any members/dealers currently on the forums that you would recommend to start talking to?

Thanks for all your help!

I would guess that you would be in the best position to negotiate if you can find one dealer with both cars on the lot. If you want a 3-series or M3 and want a 2018 or older, there are lots of discounts as people are holding off waiting for G20 cars.

I have a very good relationship with my local BMW dealer in Orange County, CA. It's a bit far from you but the deal might be worth it. PM me for details.

The G80 is a few years away, so, I don't think you can get great deals on the f80 yet.

The biggest benefit anyone can receive when getting two vehicles at once is discount. Dealerships are likely willing to give up most of their gross because you're relieving their inventory of two vehicles that they may be paying interest on (this is dependent on how long the vehicle has been sitting on the lot). If a dealership knows they can get two guaranteed sales to put towards their monthly target in "one" large transaction, I have to think they're willing to deal in your favour.

Last March, I negotiated leases for a '17 340xi and a '17 X3 2.8i simultaneously. I have a great relationship with the CA as these represented leases 4 and 5, so my experience may be slightly different. Anyway, I basically told the CA that I was looking to replace my 335xi with a new 340xi and that depending on how the deal came together we would be looking at also leasing an X3. Ended up with great deals on both (roughly 12% off MSRP on the 340xi and 10% off on the X3, including all incentives with zero MF markup). Both were ordered on the same day and the X3 arrived about 5 weeks before the 340xi (X3 coming from SC and 340xi coming from Germany). Bottom line, I think you will get the dealer's attention as it's kind of a '2fer', but I wouldn't expect an extra discount based on bulk - each has to be negotiated and they may have different incentives/motivations.
