For those interested, in spain they charge me 70€ in total for both the lci trim and the cable components at bmw official store.

Prices may vary in your country.

Anyone else have issues removing the plug from the AC/trim unit?

I've tried pulling like in the instructional videos and have tried everything but I can't get it to come off. Even went in with pliers with no success.

You just have to pull on it. It will come off, just not as easy as in the video.

Just finished!

Pushing all the clips that hold the ac and radio controls on the trim was the most annoying part. Insert credit cards or something similar to hold them, saves a lot of time and frustration

I have no light package but eventually got it working. I have tapped to radio wires pin 13 and 15 i think. It works but obviously I can't change colour

Dante, thanks for the writeup! I got my F30 now for 2 months, and one of the things I wanted to do at first was changing the trim to a illuminated version. I just bought the trim, but now I need the Y cable to fix it. I am actually very handy, but with cables and small parts im just not the best. So I wanted to ask you if you are still selling this cable, and send it to the Netherlands? Thanks!

Thats actually the one indeed, but Dante makes it from original BMW materials, so thats a bit better I think

How do I change color? I found where I can change the brightness but not color to white. Maybe I don’t have that option.

Does anyone knows where can I buy the unlock button next to the shift knob ( its the little plastic button on the side) that I just installed!
It got scratched a bit trying to remove the old trim from the shifter!
I looked up all over internet with not results so if anyone knows where I really appreciate!

Installed this mod today, happy with the gloss black look /w my interior and love the improved OEM lighting effect. It's definitely not that bright but looks like it came from the factory that way. Thanks Dante!

All parts OEM BMW sourced. I will say the hardest part for me was removing the trim from the AC/radio, wish that was explained a bit better but YouTube helped.

Don't think you can. You'll likely need a new shifter.

I know I just find out too that I need a new shifter!
I just might buy it one real cheap on eBay witoith any scratch and just use the unlock button to replace mine and call it the day!
