Looking to pick up CPO 2015 328 xdrive

Just as the title says. Have been out of the bmw game for a while. Can someone provide any input on what I should watch out for. What are some common problem? And whether this is a good idea in the first place.

the biggest potential issue with the N20 engine is the timing chain. there is a possibility of it causing a catastrophic engine failure. the issue may have been taken care of with later 2015 N20 builds however i'm not real sure, you'll have to research it yourself. if feasible i'd say go for a used/newer 330i with the B48 if you desire staying with an I-4 or a 335i with the 6-cyl N55.

This is correct.... one of the biggest things to look out for is the N20 timing chain. I believe 2015/2016 is when they made the changes to the chain guide, tensioner and chain itself, however I am not 100% sure when the made the change completely. Best way to tell is to go on realoem and compare the timing chain parts to see when the new one was put in.

While the newer 330i with B48 is "supposed" to be better (its a closed deck design, which should be able to handle more power), there really isn't a lot of data out there yet. Those that have driven both (B48 vs N20) actually commented that the N20 feels faster and more torque down low (hard to comment on reliability/issues as it's still a fairly new engine)
