I hope that Sterling is replaced with Rashford or Vardy. Sterling just isn't a finisher, though he did get himself in goalscoring positions.
We did very badly from the referee and VAR team. I'm not sure if FIFA have have admitted that it wasn't upto par.

Anyway, we're still in it!

I think people have short memories about missed chances and England its been a story of missed chances for 50 years.

When we watch another team just miss a opportunity after a good move we think Oh they're good, applying pressure and that was close, when England do the same we shout Oh that's crap!

When Man Utd used to win or draw losing matches in "Fergie" time everyone used to say wow those guys are good and never know when they are beaten, when England do it it's lucky and scraping through.....

To some extent perhaps but there have been several tournaments where the team simply hasn't performed and has created very few chances to miss; far too much passing sideways and backwards with no real attempt to go forward and very little penetration when they did.

At least on Monday we tried to attack and be positive which is in itself an improvement on some recent World Cups and European Championships. If (when!) we go out I'd rather us do it having had a go as opposed to having spent most of the game passing it around between ourselves in our own half!

4-4-2 long ball Vardey over the top.

We'll progress and sure regardless of 1st or 2nd we'll play a team from group H on either 2nd or 3rd July @7pm. I expected Poland and Columbia to romp it and both got beat off Senegal and Japan respectively.

We should get through that.

No one except Spain/Portugal have really shone yet.

Easy for me to say this as a Scot, whose national team, is quite frankly crap, but I think some of you English really ought to step back from the criticism, and just enjoy the potential this England team has.
It's young, with bags of talents, and a lot of scope to get much much better. There are players with genuine world class ability there, and a lack of the hubris and expectation of previous campaigns. The team and manager seem to be committed to playing positive, attacking football, and few teams are super sharp with the finishing in the first game.

I think that was my point, this team did have a real go right from the whistle then get flak for having a go and not having some mythical powers that enable every attempt to end in a goal.

I'm sorry but watching soccer is ok but I just have to say based on all of the fake injury grimaces I have seen thus far watching this game:
SOCCER PLAYERS ARE THE WORLD'S BIGGEST PUSSIES

Players grimace as if theyve dislocated a knee only to be sprinting up the sidelines on offense a few moments later.. these douches need spankins

It's called cheating in an attempt to fool the ref, I don't like it and it's mainly the South American and southern European teams that engage in it.

It sure does, was hoping Brazil with cheating Neymar suffer the same consequences but didn't happen

I know every game if different and can't really compare like for like but....

After 51 minutes, Belgium have tore apart and lead 4-1 a team England narrowly beat 2-1

From a population of under 12 million, compared to our 50 odd million shows.

Nice front 4 of Mertens, Hazard, De bruyne and Lukaku.

How many of them would get into the England team?

All of them! It's been interesting so far some big teams struggling to get going, I think Spain and Belgium look very good so far, we'll need to defend well against Belgium but nothing they do will be a surprise from the big three all depends if we can stop them.

Me and son are loving watching the last match each evening together rooting for the underdogs...who seem to be doing very very well at his WC.

Could a non winning nation join the exclusive club this year...I think so!
