20psi? What is the purpose of such big opening pressure? Full vacuum is 14.7 and I can hardly thick that an engine can make more than 10psi vacuum.

Could you try to do a flow test with/without the valve? Or maybe just remove the spring inside it - I'll try that tomorrow.

20psi line pressure from my pump which runs at 220psi at 100% duty. I’m not even maxing out my 5gph nozzle. I feel as though it’s plenty fine for my setup. Again, it’s what ProMeth also recommended.

The 20psi is opening pressure right? Those psi are lost pump pressure and seems excessive when the engine cannot nearly make that much vacuum. Took mine apart. Looks great for 3.5 bucks I'd say. Think I'll try to improve the flow by making some more holes in the valve head

Yeah, 20psi cracking pressure. I’m fine with it honestly. I’m running a small 5gph nozzle which I’m not maxing out on the stock turbo. By the time we’re done with the tune I’ll be happy with 420-440awhp/490-520awtq. That’s as much as I care to push to stock turbo anyways. If flow ever became an issue, I know Twisted Tuning offers a 14psi valve, or I could always swap to a bigger nozzle/turn up the pump pressure.

HKD126 harkes Hey I had a question for you both where did you tap the boost signal from, the charge pipe tmap or manifold map sensor?

I use the manifold MAP as that will ready the "true" pressure.

See my video:

See my video:
Is it your stock N55 manifold sensor or did you upgrade it to the 3.5 bar N20 sensor

I used the TMAP sensor signal wire and OEM sensor as I’m not running more than 20psi.

In my first post I showed to to calculate the values for either stock sensor or 3.5 N20.

Mike

What's up? Back from the tour? I am still struggling with my tune but had a log reviewed by Juan from Bigboost who said my WG is probably adjusted too tightly causing all that overboost I have. Might also solve the oscillation - I'll have it adjusted on of these days. Fingers crossed

I fly home tomorrow. Unfortunately it’s now winter with a good amount of snow... Tuning will have to resume come spring...

Awesome DIY by HKD126. Thanks also to Harkes as well. I just installed a Torqbyte controller and am punting the JB4. For the most part JB4 worked OK but there were occasional issues I got tired of.

In case anyone wants to build their own TMAP patch cable, the TMAP connectors are Hirschmann Automotive 805-122-541 (plug, on harness) and 872-617-541 (socket equivalent on TMAP sensor). A set is about $5 on AliExpress:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free...757e4c4d3AFKzk

Additionally you will need a crimper. I bought an IWISS IWS-2820M:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If you go this route make sure you get more than 1 connector or extra pins, as it is easy to screw up the crimping. In retrospect it would have been a lot easier to get a patch from BMS, but I wanted to crimp connect this directly to the TMAP sensor wire. In my installation I just connected the sensor wire and did not connect the ground wire to the CM5-LT.

Another location to mount the CM5 is above the driver kick panel. I have an F23 and tied / VHB taped it to an existing module bracket on the fender side. On the F2x there is a hole in the kick panel and I can reach in to install the USB cable when I need to. Not sure if the F30 is the same, but there are a lot of similarities on the F2x and F3x so I thought I would mention it.

Post some logs and let us see how you made your setup I am being custom tuned now on MHD so hopefully 20psi soon on meth and 91 AKI

Indeed I were. Answer is PWG support. Few tuners on the BM3 platform have extensive experience with PWG and the one I found prefer to work with MHD.

OK, finally got all the wiring squared away. Have been a bit busy and didn't get the solenoid wired to GPO1 until recently. Values in this thread for the N55 TMAP sensor were the same in my BM3 stock file.

One of the issues I had previously with my JB4 setup is sometimes the N55 would reset fuel trims to the center sometimes when meth was flowing. Not sure why it would happen, but traction control events seemed to be one of the triggers. This would result in really rich AFR and lots of misfiring, loss of power, etc. Very unsatisfying. Hoping that the TB controller will help with this, since the duty cycle is driven off the TMAP sensor. During a traction event the throttle closes, manifold boost lowers and TB lowers meth flow.

After installing the TB I still had some issues and went to a slightly smaller DO7 nozzle instead of a CM10. Currently running an Enzo BM3 map so the fuel pump can mostly keep up, but there are some points where pressure does sag quite a bit. I am thinking the meth will help with this and cooling when it gets hot in the summer (SoCal). My turbo is stock and my map doesn't depend on the meth so no need in my setup for a boost dump controlled by the TB.

Still have to get some BM3 logs along with the TB logs to really see how things are working.

I have a problem that even with the settings calculated by TorqByte, the TB and BM3 logs does not read the same psi. How does your compare?

I talked with TB about this and we adjusted mine slightly and they ended up being bang on.

OK, mind sharing the values? They said they would buy one to measure it, but I never heard back. Doesn't really matter if TB read 20 or 10 - just adjust the tabels accordingly - more for the inner perfectionist
