Stage 2 93 logs

https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=6254...90c6511ab8cd99

I just want to know if everything looked good.
And is the timing off because of bad gas?

Nothing jumps out. Probably fuel quality, but 1 log isnt enough to draw conclusions from. You need 3 logs collected shortly after one another on the same tank of gas to be able to see if there are any patterns, specific cylinders falling behind, etc.

DO NOT move to a map requiring higher octane when you already have problems!!!

Timing is more consistent. You still have one knock. But yeah would run this map and not the 93 one.

I've read so many times that you should use a 91 tune and run 93. It seems like everyone who runs 93 on a 93 tune gets knock or some issues and ends up getting advised to add ethanol or bump down to the 91 tune. Maybe I'm just reading the negative posts.

I agree though, 91 logs look better.

Do I also have a boost leak? I notice I wasn't hitting target boost higher up in the rev range.

bm3 OTS tune by design will always have a gap between target boost and actual boost, so that is not cause for concern of boost leak, HOWEVER, when i view your WGDC, it does climb pretty high, which is indicative that you might have a small boost leak at higher pressures.

so if there's a boost leak, it's not preventing you from getting the performance out of the tune, however, your turbo is worked pretty hard for 'just' 16psi.

Thanks for the info, I just changed back to stage 2 93 and added a gallon of e85. And I didn't get any knock. Unfortunately I only had time for one log but I'll take more after work.

If you're keen on using the 93 oct tune, add even more ethanol, because it still looks slower than the 91 oct logs. Otherwise, the 91 oct tune log is better and likely faster and easier since you don't have to add extra ethanol. Actually if you're willing to spend the effort to add ethanol, why not run the e30 tune? That'll be significantly faster.

With your wgdc climbing to 90+, I still think you've got a boost leak that presents itself at higher pressures. Search for diverter valve leaks and compare.

How would I look for a leak at my diverter valve. Would a smoke test help? I was thinking about getting one because I can't find this leak for the life of me.

Smoke is nice but not really needed. Just pressurise your system to 20psi then you can hear it for sure (given a quiet environment).

PS: TONS of posts regarding leak testing

There's not really a easy way to test for a DV leak. A leaking/weak DV recirculates back into the same system so it wont be a leak you can "see" from a pressure test.

Based on that additional 93 log with a little ethanol, i would probably still just run the 91 map... you can try E30 map with the proper amount of ethanol and see what happens if you want. I run MHD's stage 2+ E20 map with E30 fuel because our 91 is so bad here, i could even get decent timing on the 91 map.

Alright I might try the e30 map, but I'll definitely pressure test it in the next couple weeks. Thanks for all the help. If I do try the e30 map I'll send the logs in here.

based on everything posted, run 91 map unless you are adding a few gallons of E85

Or just go with E30 to make more power safely
