Ummm. I've upgraded to M-Performance Brakes when I bought my M-Sport with port install. They bleed brake dust. I don't which brakes have more brake dust, the standard M-Sport vs. M-Perf brakes, but I always assumed it was know the M-Perf were especially bad.

That said, it's not really an issue for me because the barrel of my wheels are powder-coated gunmetal and the face is machined polished. So it's not that noticeable. But, if I shelled out of a beautiful set of monoblock silver rims, I'd be annoyed because they'd be dirty in one day.

Thanks for that info. For some reason I thought the MPerf brakes had less dust. My wheels are gunmetal but the brake dust collects a copper color on the wheels.

Just got a quote for 6.5 hours of labor for install, this seems high. For those of you who have had the dealer install them what did they charge you for labor hours?

Someone posted a screen shot or pdf from a service manual that showed the install time and it was 3.8hrs or something... Not sure where that post is though.

Posted here. I can't tell if the 3.8 hours is just for the fronts or also includes the rears. But, the $2700 MSRP is for front and rear calipers and rotors. So, I think it is 3.8 hours.

I got my port-installed for free.

they waived $1200 install for free...that's pretty remarkable.

It was a stretch for me to get them to install the Performance Exhaust and Grilles at invoice and free install - $hit had I known I could get away with it, I would've forced the issue with the brakes and suspension!!

$1200? Ouch!

All this was agreed to when I bought the car and signed the papers. I got the performance exhaust at invoice and free port-install too. I believe port-install is the only time you could get anything installed for free (unless you work out something out with the dealer).

yeah lesson learned for me...I lucked out with the exhaust and grille because I wanted it and negotiated it in.

Yeah, I didn't do the brakes because I don't track, but had I know I could've port installed it, I would've done the brakes and suspension to...that's a $3k savings.

I'll remember for the M3 I'm buying in 7 years, lol!
