You're absolutely right, it definitely will not harm the engine or the transmission, BMW would have never designed it that way, plus the ZF8 tranny is proven bullet proof.

Your argument for ECO PRO being run away ass cars makes no sense, you're telling me with idential maintenance you rather have a newer car with low milage that's redlined all the time than driven in ECO mode during break in period? My car throws my head to headrest when I punch it in sport+, so it's initial life of ECO mode had no ill affect on power what so ever.
I think the anti-eco-pro argument is that the auto start/stop is inherently hard on the timing chain.

I've had start stop off since day one, in all modes. But i do have to agree if you're running it, it's probably not the best

I coded auto start/stop off since the day I bought the car, I only enable it now when I'm waiting for a train to pass, but I did do a lot of research on this topic, and it seems like it doesn't do as much damage as people think, it's more of an annoyance than anything.

I do, every F3x model has the on/off button on top of the start button, but you have to push it every time it starts to disable it, I have mine set to remember last state, which is always off. Coding isn't a bad thing, I have my car coded exactly the way I wanted, with video in motion, extended codec enabled and enhanced bluetooth, and for sh*ts and giggles, I coded my ASD to have rolls royce V12 sound coming out of the speakers. I'll put it back when I get bored.

Why not cut through all the B/S and ask the question was the car assigned to one person? if so as a car fanatic could you make contact with the person to find out how the car drove,,,,,

That’s not the case in the US cars, the on/off button permanently turns it off and doesn’t default to on.

According to BMW, I am the first owner, the 3 year BMW Maintenance Plan in still in place for me. I just got the free 20K miles service 3 weeks ago.
Mine delivered to same place except name is "Hawks"

Good. This car is assigned to one executive, this is not demo car. I was told by the sale manager that I should get these cars.

Not all cars are like that. I have a Alfa Romeo that defaults to on. It sucks. I know some other cars are that way too

Maybe. It has to do with the dealer floor plan financing. Dealers don't sell cars on spec, they in effect buy them from BMW, the purchase financed by BMW Financial or some other banking institution, paying interest on the amount of the note from the day the car arrives on the lot until the day they sell it and pay it off. When a car is a dealer demo they get a better interest rate. Back when interest rates were much higher than today dealers would buy as many demos as their financing source allowed, say 5% of their inventory, whether they actually used them as demos or not. With today's low interest rates there's not as much incentive to do this, but a large enough dealer might still play at the game. If the car has mileage then it obviously was used in some capacity, maybe as an employee demo, maybe as a loaner. Usually it's both.

You got a great deal on a great car! These BMW executive demos are some of the best “used” car deals BMW has. They’re driven by BMW corporate employees for a limited number of miles, for a limited amount of time. They then go to a special BMW dealer only auction where dealers buy them at deep discounts. That’s why they’re priced so aggressively.

Congrats on the car. Now, it’s the internet, you know the rules - pics or it didn’t happen.

I am second owner to a demo car.
car was sold to first owner at 3k? miles or something like that.
I bought it with 42k miles.
car was serviced at dealer through its whole life with first owner.
my car spun a bearing at 72k.

I guess its a YMMV thing

This is not the case. All the info that was provided to me say that my car was delivered to the BWM factory in SC and driven by one person. Also, the service history show oil change at 9k miles done by a BMW dealer near the factory in SC.

The new car window sticker clearly show that it was delivered to the factory for "Simpson", the driver of the car. For demo or loaner cars, the sticker show the dealer name and the delivery address.

Not true for earlier models - 2012, 2013. Maybe even 2014. I had to get mine coded from the dealer.

I’ve only driven 15-18 just figured they were all like that since mine is pre-lci. Still majority do have it than don’t.
