Anshu's 335i Journal
Hey everyone, thought it was time I opened one of these threads. Just wanted to share and keep track of things I've been doing to my F30. Nothing too crazy and not much of a "build", but figured it'd be nice to have all my pics in one place and track progress.
Current State: (as of October 2019) Current Mods:
Came from a VW GLI which I loved, but put a ton of miles on in 3 years...like 90k. It was time for a change when I switched jobs that didn't require me to travel as much. Also told myself I wouldn't mod my next car as much, but who am I kidding? I was very close to getting a EBII 335i with the 6MT, but ATL traffic is a bitch to deal with (bad excuse, I know!) and my fiance needs to be able to drive the car at times as well. I also felt I would get tired of the EBII after a little. Picked up a CPO '13 Glacier Silver 335i! My first Bimmer Black Kidney Grills within the first week. Then smoked front reflector followed soon after. In the meantime, I found these M3 style CF mirrors that I really liked. They look great to me, but the finishing touches on it leave a bit to be desired (the seal on the inside started to split a little from the heat). I can deal with it for now Next came the Bilstein B14s. Great balance of comfort and tighter/firmer handling. Sold the 403Ms. Even though I love them, they were a pain in the ass to clean and I wanted something wider and lighter. ESR SR01s Last edited by aps; 01-29-2020 at 08:52 AM.. Reason: - |

Took a bunch of pictures over the weekend at my dad's house in NC. Just iPhone pics, because I don't have a cool camera and I'm pretty shit at photography anyways lol.

Looks great man... The silver paint plus wheel color scheme goes together nicely.
The exhaust tips appear to be aftermarket... what did you end up going with? [Disregard: I see you installed a catted downpipe!] Downpipe... in Metro Atlanta... are you not concerned about emissions testing? |

The DP and emissions thing does have me nervous. I've got till June next year to figure out a solution, so I'm kind of just putting that off for now lol. |

Right now, I think I'm at a place where I'm happy for a while. Trying to hold off on anything else. Maybe a JB4 later on, but I'm also trying to save for a wedding right now!
Only thing I am debating is swapping out the smoked front reflector for a paint matched one which I have sitting in my trunk. Still can't decide on that. |

I've also read it's not exactly required right away with the catted dp so it doesn't feel like an urgent need.

Yeah, I just can't tell if the outline of the cutout will bother me. Right now it looks like a reflector. I sometimes feel like the color matched will look like I jus ttried to plug a hole or something haha.
I'll have to try it when I get some time I guess. |

You could really open the aperture to get rid of the grainyness and separate the subject from the background. Some DOF bokeh will pull focus on the car rather than the basketball hoop and Honda, which are distracting. Just some friendly little phototography pointers!
