Is it worth 'updating' my maps on Pro-Nav (2017)?
Is it just a USB 'plug-in'? and what are the benefits?

Definitely worth it, there are a few ways of doing. Cheapest would be to buy an FSC code and download the latest files. Then stick them on a USB drive and update the system.

Not sure if you can buy OTA updates for your system from the connected drive store. You should be able to buy a map update subscription though of you want to.

Just be cautious if buying an FSC code if you have an NBT_EVO head unit. I think some have had issues.
I'd just buy the £99 package from connected drive tbh, gives you a year of map updates, RTTI, intelligent voice & something else.
Or wait until BF sale, where it should have at least £20 off.

Doesn't affect F3x which is on iDrive 6 and previous.

I've downloaded the EUROPE EVO 2020-3 for the wife's x3 but it doesn't show on the download manager for my F33 even though it's the same map and I've paid for the subscription! Any ideas?

Yes. It still shows 2020-2 as the latest one available. Think I'll ring them tomorrow

The car should have 3 years free updates...2017 car, are you under or over that?

Benefits....if you have over the air updates that updates GB maps, the USB update updates all the other Europe maps. If they are currently free to you, you may as well update them.

BMWs with iDrive 7 are getting an OTA update that, among other things, brings Android Auto.

Another benefit if you have speed limit display then the information is apparently from both maps and the camera

Hi everyone ,

Looking to update the European maps on my 2018 , F31.
With is best to use , a usb stick or a flash drive and 64 g .
And which format should I use I.e. FAT 32.

I use a Sandisk usb 64GB, iDrive 6 should be able to handle FAT32 or NTFS...personally I just use Windows to format the usb before loading on the files so not 100% which format it does it to
