435iX - Best way to level out the rake?
Greetings all - I've read a bit on this but I'm having a little difficulty finding folks who have my identical set up so here comes a new thread.
2016 435iX 6MT with M Adaptive Suspension All I'm looking to do is (hopefully) lower the front a very small amount to even the car out with the back. I have the M-perf lip up front so I'm not looking for anything more than that for obvious reasons. I've read that some F80/F82 front springs will give about a 3/4 inch drop which is probably perfect for what I want. Has anyone had a successful solution to the negative rake in these cars? Thanks in advance JR |

I have installed the Eibach Pro Kit on my 2019 440i xDrive with Adaptive Suspension. The springs dropped the front 3/4", rear 1/2" (Eibach Specs) and wheels are now square in wheel wells (the large gap above wheels is gone!). Eibach claims spring is 10% stiffer, I hardly noticed ride difference except car is more planted around corners. Nice thing is the adaptive shocks and bump stops do not need to be replaced.

That looks perfect. Wonder if the front would be too low with the performance splitter. It's nice for a change not having to worry about driveways/parking. My e46 is dropped with csl splitters.

Front Tires 225/35/R20 Rear Tires 255/30/R20 The 20" wheels are stiffer and you will get a harsher ride. Not obnoxious (for me) but certainly you will feel the road more. I have adaptive suspension and the stiffer setting is nearly unbearable with 20" wheels, yet it is good on highway with 19" wheels and holds like a small go cart. I run a set of 19" 401M Staggered wheels in winter, they ride better, but those 20" wheels look so good! I check the wheel pressure regularly as this is what will contribute to those bent rims! I find the 20" wheels VERY sensitive to temperatures and therefore I usually maintain a couple pounds over recommendation to maintain a minimum pressure on colder days. If you have a higher speed limiter on the car (i.e. car was originally supplied with performance summer tires, 155 MPH vs. standard 135 MPH), the recommendations on the tires for extended high speed driving are couple pounds higher than normal vs. in town driving. I have also found the tires wear with a more square pattern 2 lbs. over. Just my observation, yet Michigan has pretty good temperature swings, could be different for other geographical areas. If you have xDrive, it is CRITICAL that you have the wheel diameters as close as possible! The factory Staggered setup comes with the correct wheels to ensure these are within BMW tolerance. If you install the incorrect staggered setup, it can have an impact on the traction and cause many issues due to the wheels running at different speeds due to the rolling diameter. So be careful!

The Eibach Springs are to bring the xDrive to the RWD lowered Sport Suspension height of 10MM below standard (20MM below xDrive standard) and with the claimed 10% stiffer ride than stock, it's not too noticeable, and not harsh, so the ride is still good for a daily driver.

I put a DIY for spring swapping on this thread, it includes all tools and torques: DIY Springs/Shocks Guide & Tool List F3x/F2x If you are considering doing this yourself, it also has some links for videos and couple of parts and part numbers to help.
