I will pay you!
Greetings fellow enthusiasts,
I need to do my transmission, diff and transfer case fluid and filter service soon. I'm almost at 100k km. I don't agreed that these fluids and filter are "lifetime". I drive 80k+ km per year and need to ensure my unicorn is in top shape, as I plan to keep it for at least 7 years and 500k km. I got some indi shop quotes between $1500-$2000 parts + labor before taxes: thumbdown I don't even want to know how much BMW will charge... If you are knowledgeable about the above services and are willing to help. I will pay you for your time. We can discuss in private the amount. I have bimmercode, bimmerlink, e-sys and basic tools. I do have access to a heated garage (in Barrie area if you do not have indoor access to do the work). We can do the work anywhere between Barrie and GTA. The last 5 of my VIN are A018903, if anyone wants to post part# and links to everything I need. Thanks in advance! EDIT: My car is a 2017 328d x-Drive

I would gather all of the parts and then reevaluate.
The transfer case and differential are especially easy to do yourself. The transmission will take more planning. Do you have any tools whatsoever? ps. I used to live in Barrie (2003-2004) |

I have an unlimited resource of tools and access to a hoist. Do you know of any solid DIYs? You lived in Ontario for one year? Are you Canadian eh? lol

You might be right, I started to dig around and it doesn't seem all that difficult to do the transmission. I think my fuel filter was harder. Here is a PDF from ZF I found for the service. Does my car have the 8HP45?
