F33 suspension drop.... Help me understand

Hi everyone. I am the new owner of a 2014 435i convertible with m package. I am a little confused on my suspension setup and would like some clarification before I go shopping around for a suspension upgrade. I'll split this into two sections. 1) what's my setup and 2) what are my upgrade options

1)From looking at my struts it doesn't look like I have the edc suspension. My question is, what were the options in suspension? What do I have? Do I have m suspension since I have the m package? My Vin# is WBA3T3C57EP737799, I looked it up but it's only sitting what were the options for my car.

2) The top of my budget is $1k. I want a subtle drop around .75"-1" and would like to stiffen up the bounce. I'm not tracking the car but it isn't a daily driver either.

I see allot of kits being sold for the f32, but they don't specify wether they work with f33 cars or not. Others say w/out m suspension and others say w/out edc, which I understand. I have a convertible, so I would think the setup would be different considering the added weight, right?

Any input is greatly appreciated guys. Help me understand my setup and what works for me. Thanks guys.

Alex

Hey Alex,

Coming from my f33, here is what i did. i had the Adaptative suspension so going with the Coilover setup and keeping the adaptive option available, it cost too much. Just like you, i was looking around a nice drop, about 1". I went with Vogtland coil spring. The drop was just perfect, confort was great, no bouncy at all. a bit more firm that stock, handling was great.

Best bang for the buck in my opinion! Vogtland will cost less then any other brand like H&R or Eibach, Dinan.. And offer a 10 year warranty on the product.

Vogtland is derived for Eibach but specialise in the Euro car.

Will try to post you picture of the setup if it works with the Phone App.

That looks good, especially with the 20s. Did you keep the stock struts and shocks? Any alignment issues with that setup? Would I be able to run spacers with this drop?

Thank you for your reply and the pictures.

Do you have the original sticker or build sheet with option codes? Both will indicate if M Adaptive suspension is included.

It looks like you own m sports susp, but according to your vin you don't have m adaptive suspension so no EDC. As for springs since your already relatively low since you probably aren't xdrive, a set of acs, dinan or eibachs should do you quite well. And since you don't have EDC if the ride is very uncomfortable you can always change the shocks.

Stock strut. Putting spacer yes you can, it all depend on your wheel setup. If you have stock wheel, yes you can add spacer without any problem.

As the alignment, it is requires instantly that you touch the suspension height.

Update

Sitting on h&r super sports and 20x9/20x10.5 velgen wheels. I love the look and ride but I have an annoying clatter noise on small bumps and rubber rubbing noise when turning the wheel while stopped. Also installed ground control camber plates.

No one on the forums say they have clatter from these camber plates so I'm not sure where the noises are coming from.
