Everything everyone said is true. I’m not that interested in the difference in performance. Yes it costs more. I hope the top doesn’t fail. Especially in a rain storm. But when the weather is right,it’s great.

Here are the top 3. No trunk space, no backseat room, no hatchback...... Verts are fun when you first get them but the novelty wears off quickly.

Did I say it wasn’t true??? Of course a heavier vehicle with the roof cut off will be slower and less rigid. All I said was in the real world most would not notice a marked difference. Also I am more than happy with my verts performance and stiffness which is more than I can say than my wife about me

Disagree-Corvettes, Ferraris and Aston Martin/Jaguars are killer in 'vert form.

I’ve had a convertible since 1991. I still enjoy it. Mine has trunk space and a back seat.

The difference is felt through the steering wheel and goosebumps when cornering at speed on imperfect asphalt. Get what you like, they are very different vehicles with similar characteristics and identical drivetrains.

Trunk Space is fine with top closed and with the pass-thru open,it gives you lots of potential for storage...top open...not so much...but this car is not for soccer Mom’s lugging around kids and all their crap...that’s why we have our X1

The trunk space is only about a cubic foot less than the sedan. The F30 doesn't have a hatchback, either. If it won't fit in my trunk with the rear seats folded down, I should be driving my pickup truck, anyway. Rear seat room is fine once you climb in... except for headroom, which becomes an issue as you approach six feet tall. My wife recently rode for five hours in the back seat (because our 87 year old friend was riding shotgun) and said it was very comfortable. |

Did not read thread but some people have more than one car and enjoy the option of driving around top down when the weather or occasion permits. Not everyone drives around at 7/10s or more on the road.
I had a 1988 MR2 SC with t-tops as a first car. Although not a vert, I did enjoy the open top experience on nice Northern California days. As a side note, a lot of classic/vintage sports cars were all 'verts or simply open top cars. Be open minded schweethearts!
