How to tell if I have PWG or EWG?
I was wondering if my 335i xdrive is a PWG or EWG car. It’s a 2013 with a production date of 07/2013. I have read that the start of EWG production begins in July of 2013 but only some of the July cars got the EWG. Please let me know some ways to figure this out. Thanks in advance

Physically look at the car and see if it has an electronic or pneumatic wastegate

That gets you nowhere.
Using your VIN on realoem simply looks at the model code and build month, giving you the most likely parts used in that months build. It gives you nothing more than that and certainly not specifics about your specific car. This can easily be seen as it will list all the available trims, bumpers, headlights, interior colors/materials etc, Radio/Nav etc not just what was in your specific car. Something as major as PWG vs EWG in a 7/2013 car requires a visual check of a turbo or down pipe in the actual car for 100% certainty. |

I’ve given you ways to confirm that for yourself. A 7/2013 is supposed to have an EWG, so that’s what realoem will show you. In most cases that will be correct, unless you are one of the few that have a PWG built 7/2013 vehicle. BTW, you are aware that there were never any PWG F32s? So your limited experience within that model is meaningless. |

There really shouldnt ever be any cars which were changed over mid-month.

Here is a picture. I am not 100% sure what I am looking at but would like to ask you guys if it’s PWG or EWG. I believe this is where the solenoid is. It does not have the blue connector which I have heard the PWG cars have. Please let me know. Again it’s a 2013 335i xdrive made in 7/13.
