i think the single thing i'll miss the most once my subaru sells is the flat bottom DAMD steering wheel and the STI 13:1 steering rack i installed. changed the car so dramatically and the m sport steering wheel doesn't compare but the steering angle adjustment on the fly on the 340 seems great.
The STi was stock, but man was it so nice even in that form. It really gave you confidence turning in. The stock suspension in the 340 is the opposite.

Honestly at first I didn't like the steering wheel feel on the 340, but I've since gotten used to it. I do think it's still too light, but it's not that big of a deal any more.

I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do with the suspension on the 340 yet. There's a thread where one guy did a bunch of suspension tweaks that looked pretty good... I need to find that again.

I have a different feeling about my STi's - had a 2012 and a 2015 - the 2012 was modded to about 350/370 wheel and was a torque monster. Very fast and very loud. The 2015 was a simple stage 2 and far more civilized. Still it was hard as hell over bumps and used to beat the crap out of me. Loud too so that I couldnt really use the hands free phone. I did enjoy driving it but got to the point where I found great relief when i'd drive my other cars. Realized I wanted something more refined. I'm OK if the 340 I'm getting soon doesnt handle like a go kart. I think i will enjoy it all the more.

i can relate. i think as an enthusiast you go through phases. at least most of us. i remember being on BCs in the subie with 14k spring rates not knowing what i was doing and loving every minute of it before tarmac IIs, AST 4300s, ohlins, custom bilstein shocks and swift springs; different phases and levels of modification. i often get in my folks' lexus e300 and relish in the differences at times. but boy oh boy nothing replaces having nearly 475 whp/wtq at your beck and call and dual EWGs blaring at 30psi on a twin-scroll set up... man!

this is why i need to figure out a way to have four vehicles, haha.

Rather amazing what those little boxers are capable of frankly. Really enjoyed my STi's and the STi community I found really great too. Not everybody "gets" the whole WRX/STi thing and still fewer would ever consider owning one. Those that do are invariably real car guys (and gals)

ok so car is at VPC. because I'm getting the MPPSK and kidney grills looks like it's going to take a while probably more so because of the former than the latter. so, car leaves the 29th (10 day work order completion) and arrives at dealer the 30th of april.

we shall see. if it all goes to schedule it will be 7 weeks from order to arrival at dealer which is pretty good I think!

ok so NEW update is car is coming sooner than estimated yesterday!

new info states:

04.18 arrival @ VPC in baltimore
04.21 VPC work order complete, on trailer, and en route to dealer
04.24 arrival at dealer

basically cut a whole week off of the work order schedule over night. if true, that's awesome.

that's just about six weeks for custom build - not too shabby!

I'm not sure if you were referring to my susoension thread, but I can relate to you guys. I came from a series of modified A4s and the OEM adaptive suspension on my 340xi was way, way too soft for my taste. Massive body roll. This thread has lots of discussion of suspension options and the info on what I ultimately did. I freaking love the car now (MPPSK plus suspension mods). I do get some creaking from the rear with my setup though, actually taking it in next week to get it looked at. But the handling is much tighter without being unduly harsh. Hope it helps.

Enjoy the ride monkiboy, I loved tracking mine on the boat too.
