Thats why i don`t recommend it installing at all.

@2, no thats not possible as music and video app are the same app only started by different intents, so its not possible to replace the video app.

Hi. I have change the default music player via factory setting. Everything works fine before i restart the hu. Once I restart the hu the old music player apps will auto play. But not the player app that I have change. Any idea how to fix?

thanks dude , someone also mentioned about connecting the hu bluetooth to the bmw bluetooth for better sound and i can't even do that , not having much luck with this system

Hi Guys,

Bought a 10.25” HU from a UK retailer who advertised it as a android 10 device.

Since installing it, it takes about 3mins+ for Waze to be useable (GPS working) and the dashboard is completely wrong. When car is moving it actually records kph speed when dashboard says it’s mph.

Did a little checking on this forum and downloaded CPU-Z and found that it is a Android 9 HU. I’m wondering if maybe the retailer made a genuine mistake and sent me a Android 9HU (even though I don’t see listings of them selling Android 9 HU) or they are trying to rip me off. As this isn’t a Android 10 HU as advertised... Please see pics attached.

Same problem here. My alternative method is to point the default player app to a silence flac file. Then using automation to launch Poweramp v3 which will pause the background default player app. It'll work seamlessly as you don't hear the default player blast a song before switching to your preferred music player. Another option is before you turn off your car, press the phone call button once and it'll launch BT phone connect app. Turn off your car and the next time you boot up the screen again, it'll default to BT Phone app and not launching the KSW Media Player.

If you got that from a UK reseller, pack it up and send back as not as advertised. This is one of the older units - PX6, which we can help you with but only to a point. You cannot update it to Android 10 and we cannot help you out updates nor sorting out missing functionality.

RK3399 chip (PX6) was a predecessor to Snapdragon 625 units. It is still being sold but no longer supported by software developers. It is quickly becoming outdated, no features are being added nor bugs are getting fixed. If you're buying a new unit today, no point getting a PX6 anymore especially when these are sold for not much less than SD625.

I confirm and approve the statements of our friend RedErik above.

I myself had a PX6 before an S625 and the difference is clearly present and in favor of the S625, faster, more modern, more efficient, more "modifiable" (for example the wheel cannot be used in your applications on px6)

So you should contact your seller and tell them that the Android unit sold is not correct

iDrive can be used on PX6. Not out of the box but it can be done. This is Android, everything can be done.

Yes... with the TASKER application and much more (it is besides me who gives the first solutions on the topic Android 9 ) but all this is not in a native way, it is with research and hacks which are not needed on S625 Android 10.

In short, if you think that PX6 is well in purchase in 2021, good for you friend!

Hi guys. Is there any easy way to remove the simcard? It seems the simcard slot is not a spring type one (the one when you push it deeper it will bounce back out). I try to remove my simcard, and with the HU installed there is no space under the front glass for my head to see it clearly.

You can use eyebrow tweezers to remove/insert a SIM card, but better do that on uninstalled device. In case you've inserted it the wrong side in, then the spring might not push it back. The correct sim position is shown on the sticker.

Comment: Initially, it will not let me connect my mini handheld keyboard. So I tried my iPhone and it connected. Immediately after, I tried the keyboard and it paired with no issues. I also opened up Google Play and searched with the keyboard. I am able to use the touchpad on it as well and you'll see the cursor pop up on the screen. I did not get the Bluetooth symbol at the top, but it works. It also found my neighbors Samsung Q60 TV 🤣 but I didn't try to connect.

Short Info.

Noticed that there was an additional change with 2.5.4 / 2.5.8 Update.

• Change: "Phonelink" tile hard coded to ZLINK now, so not able to replace by KswRedirect anymore for now !

So if someone is using KswRedirect at "Phonelink" Tile its highly recommended to stay below 2.5.4 , still 2.3.6 is the last recommended update for now, before memorykiller kicked in.

I Updated the Changlogs regarding this informations.

I see. Thanks serge. My HU is installed by the seller workshop, so I don't dare to try remove it myself. Was wondering why the network never worked, maybe the seller installed it the wrong position.

Of course the SD625 is better purchase, no doubt about that but PX6 is not garbage. For somebody on a budget, PX6 is still OK.

It's not slow, it doesn't have bugs, it works well and stable. I don't know what do you expect from the HU. The only "problem" is full iDrive integration but it can be solved even without root.

Who Said The PX6 Was Trash? Who said he was slow? That he had bugs? I say on the other hand that in comparison and in all honesty: the Snapdragon 625 and much superior to the Rockchip 3399 in every point (Audio / Video / Power) and as RedErik says: it is no longer supported and monitored.

So and just say for a new purchase we should advise him: S625 - Android 10 - 1920x720

It's even almost safe, if when you gently push your sim card inward, and it doesn't move.
Your best bet is to take a small pair of tweezers, put your cell phone in selfie mode and position it against your windshield so you can see what's going on, and try (gently!) to pull the end of the sim card outwards and straight.
I managed to do it like this when I had the wrong direction
