OEM, the mic is much better imho.

Split screen worked like a charm today. Drove with waze on one side and Plex playing a show on the other. Really cool.

For the SIM card, how does that work? Do you have a plan for it seperate to your cell phone. Is it data only? I don't think I use it enough to justify another monthly cost. I think I will try the tasker suggestion, see how that works.

Another bummer was that Tidal doesn't seem to work on the Android side. It works fine on AA, but on the android side, it just shows a video player. That's it. I can't move it, can't exit, can't see the usual menus, nothing. Really strange. I'll have to fiddle with that too

Went back to 1.3.0. There are no benefits on 1.4.5 which would be relevant for me. No audio improvement. No boot improvement. BUT! My tasker loads apps on its own mind. Sometimes tasker loads apps properly sometimes it stops on some point. 1.3.0 seems to the most stable version for me. My device is rooted.

I've read about 60 pages on the Android 9 topic and I currently have a 7.1 unit (did the group-buy and started that topic years ago) so I think I will be all right
Happy to see the units progressed and got more stable and customizable.
Would love to change the startup animation and menu

Splitscreen on Android works like on every Smartphone
Changing the Animation is also easy, changing the menu`s not , and not free of risk at the moment.

best dab+ app is DAB-Z form playstore, when you switch the DAB-Z menue list to the left you can control it easily with your idrive controller

I get a free SIM card with 1 GB of data on it so I'm using that. But with music streaming I quickly realized that 1GB is not enough I'm trying now the Tasker trick and works great. Super fast in turning on/off Hotspot based on my phone bluetooth connecting to the BMW bluetooth.

2. Is it possible to change somehow the display density/size (p.e. through Tasker)? in my case part of image misses in some applications.
3. Is it safe to change the original "factory_config.xml" with another (p.e.
"factory_config_380_kri") or it is of a high risk?

@ 1, You have to set "AUX SWITCHING MODE" to manual, then it will stay at the OEM radio while switching the GUI to Android.
With this workflow best is to set AUX-IN on the OEM HU to one of the 8 shortcut Keys.
It is not possible to have OEM Radio and Android Sound output at the same time.

@2. you can change the DPI with changing the parameter "smallest width" at the Android developer options (default 486 on Android 10)
You also can disable the Top bar or, make the Taskbar smaller.

Please note when changing dpi, the Android BMW GUI will become a little bit of scaled as its not programmed correctly to fit adaptive dpi.

@3. there is no real risk of bricking your unit, if something does not work anymore as expected just use your last working file.

Yep, the Keys below or above the CD drive, depending on the car type.
normally you have to go to the selected feature so the line is at it and then press the desired number long.

you mean change by uploading to the unit ?
It has to be in the OEM folder of your thumbdrive, normally when plugged while booting it will be imported automatically, but you also can use the import function at the factory settings.

If you want to edit the file it self just use a Editor like Notepad (part of windows) , Notepad++ or Sublime.

Hey All,

Got myself a SD625 4/64 w/built in Carplay (NBT EVO 8.8) unit for a F87 M2 from naviodm.

After spending a few days getting the usb aux adapter figured out and finally getting the sound working on the android side.

Other then that things seems to be working ok so far and seller communication has been decent.

My android 10 unit is underway from navifly (aliexpress).
I've asked if they can send me the installation manual and the latest software so I can start directly.
I've got the install manual (from a PX3 unit) and no response on the software.
fun part is, I've got the manual from a @mekede.com email adress.
basically, the "Navifly StrongNavi Store" webstore is Mekede as well.

Is anyone keeping a lis of the latest software (topicstarter perhaps?)

I can tell you the UI is almost exactly the same for my Qualcomm unit. You don't need a newer manual.

The up and down steering wheel buttons don't work properly in Spotify App.
They work the first time but after 4 or 5 seconds they stop working.

Im getting the same problem. I cant skip tracks with the steering wheel after a while. In the app it keeps working. Also im getting sometimes a message in Spotify that i have to enable Background Previlege. Even after enabling it the steering wheel stops after a bit. With 1.3.0 it worked fine
