I've got an m performance 2014 F30 3 series I'm looking to do some performance upgrades on. Am I right in saying I can do a stage 1 remap without changing cooling etc? I know they seem to get around 50bhp increase which is a big jump just off a stage one. Also I've been told I can remap the gearbox straight to stage 3 which would mean quicker gear changes in peak boost area as well as allowing true manual mode (it's an auto with paddles). Will this significantly reduce the life of the gearbox? Bare in mind I drive normally 90% of the time, I'd just like a little more on the occasion where roads are quiet and I can open it up a bit. I know very little about this stuff so any advice/ opinions is appreciated.
