Remapped B58 producing low power
I've become aware of someone who has had their B58 vehicle remapped and they're seeing very low values and we're wondering what is up. I'm not naming names as I do not want to talk bad about anyone.
The sports dials hit a maximum of 300 (which is low) and a rolling road session showed a peak of 355bhp ish and at 5k rpm the cars AFR went from a nice and steady 12(ish) to 16 in a huge spike and just stayed there for the rest of the run. We confirmed this isn't a "dyno mode" because the car is definitely down on power on the road too. The odd thing is their max boost pressure only ever hits 11.8/12 which I think is stock boost pressure. They are going to get the car looked at by the company that remapped it to see if they can offer any input. Any thoughts? |

What fuel grade is this person using?
I know the dials may not be representative of power when reflashed.

looks like or the flash was not succeeded or a wrong flash was used. just go back and reflash and dyno again. a simple map 1 should already get you around 400ps

Well the person ran UK 99 fuel and has been re-remapped with no joy.
The place eventually just upped the fueling and got it to 430ish which is a good number but the dials dont reflect this and the place said there was a pre cat lamda sensor issue so they just upped the fueling. All a bit concerning that they was happy to just send them on his way with upped fueling. My dials go to the very end of the 400 display with my map - I decided to keep the scale OEM looking. |
